C.O.D / mail function + trolls

So, 2 days ago I sold some wares to a person, via mail. Bad idea, turns out that the player was a child, the little brother of the original player. He put me on ignore, hence I cant contact him so I could understand what took so long for him to accept the mail + cost. Eventually I got someone to send the player a tell, this time it was the older brother, the owner of the account. He told me sorry, aint got the gold to pay and returned it to me. Fine, I got the wares back but I was robbed of alot of gold cuz of postage fee. Now, again today Im getting screwed over again. Being a naiv and good hearted norwegian that I am, I sent a german player a ware. After some time, I dont get the return mail with the gold. I try to write a tell..then i send a grp invite..im ignored. IM DONE.. F the COD system..

Dont sell wares to people via mail. It's bothersome and awkward (only we have few options without public auction houses) since dishonest people gravitate toward its 'scam'-potential.

I'd be tempted to report the first one for account sharing. If I was a slightly more vengeful person, anyway.

I haven't used the COD, but I would think they should refund any fees if it gets returned. Does this not happen? Has anyone confirmed if this is a bug then? Maybe they didn't intend it to be that way. If so the COD is pretty useless. It would also be worth setting up an escrow service if someone could be trusted, but then they'd just get banned as a gold seller or something.

well, when the Coldhabour quest with the 2 portals was semi bugged, oh my god. That was the first time I hated humanity. Iv played Age of Conan which has/had alot of trolls but this took the cake for me...

People in your own home can play on the same account just not at the same time.

i can see that ZOS is trying to emphasize the social aspect of this game.. but i must say the fact there isn't an auction house is creating a lot of issues...

Nah did not do that, added him to friendlist rather :P
And yes Darkleaf, I have not recieved the postage fee gold when a mail has been denied and returned. My mail was not "full" either

It is my opinion, that the COD system charges you way too much postage. Considering what our options are for performing transactions with other players.

At least we don't have a fee for trading with some one in person.

Besides the calculation of the fee is totally dumb. If you post 2 items in the same mail for 1000g it's gonna cost you 210g. If you split it up it will cost you 160g. What's the point?

I think this is the point of the fee. They want you to actually interact with each other.

LOL, people do this to stop you from spamming in chat.

Dont spam in chat, in fact... dont even use chat to sell. Find a merchant guild.

First day I saw people trying to sell low level purples for 2k, or style books for 3k. People would tell them to COD to get them to stop them. In truth it is annoying and can be worse than gold spammers.

When I put up my style books, I just linked them and asked for offers. SOmeone wanted to COD me, but I said no and got them to pay face to face.

@Vlp3r‌ I'd put in a bug report and see what they say. It would really suck to not get the fee when the transaction didn't even happen. It just makes it even less likely to use it unless you trust the person which is kind of the point of COD. It gets expensive as it is.

I've had no issues so far with selling my items via CoD, but I do worry a bit at first. I always request that my items are purchased in person.

They should put a time limit on C.O.D that you can change your self ( for exemple that the person accept it in 2days or less, or it will send back to you)
