Compromise for public auction house

There is no suggestions section, so I'm posting here...the idea went over fairly well in the 'players helping players section' so here i am where i know some CS people look, with the hopes that people like it, and that it will be pushed up the chain. I'm trying to keep the current system in place, while giving access to those who are unguilded, ALSO while at the same time trying to limiting the botters.

Here is my suggestion:

1- Guild stores remain.
2- all guild stores are linked to a single 'public commerce center'
3- commerce center functions as a public auction house.
4- anyone can purchase off of this center
5- will need to be guilded in order to put items for sale.
6- seller can choose to make item a public item, or guild only, public items carry a higher AH cut as per gold sink.
7- commerce centers will be faction only. eg, players selling items in the dominion faction will not appear on Pact centers, etc.

- This will keep the guild stores as the 'inventory', therefore botters most likely won't be able to flood the store with items, as they will most likely be unguilded.

- Unguilded players will now be able to purchase items they may need without having to find a guild / hope that the guild store has what they're looking for

- Guilds are the ultimate check / balance

- will allow competitive pricing of items as people can check / compete accordingly.

- no additional buildings / npc's needed, have the banker handle it as they currently do.

thoughts?

I actually like this idea. Maybe make it so that there is a "guild charge" for the Global Store. Like the price increases by about 10% or something. Or there could be something like a guild rule, instead of per player, that the guild chooses whether or not very item is public or not - this way there can be guilds that are private and guilds that focus more of global sales. This might also help get rid of these 2000+ member guilds

If you have this, you might as well have a city AH or even a global one at that point.

It's a lot of busy work for the same basic result.

I posted it because that is honestly what i think.

It always looked strange to me not to have a central AH system. I am in 2 guilds right now. One is a trading guild but the thing is i haven't check out the guild store just once. Usually when i start a new MMO my first thing to do is go check AH to see what item i can get, what i can buy.

Does any one know the BIG idea behind this not having a central AH system ?

I guess the OP never got an invite from a gold seller guild.......

If ZOS wanted an AH, there would had been one already, stop beating the dead horse already.

The system as it is sucks it costs far to much 25% off the top is insane. Me and about 90% of ppl in the 4 guilds i'm in do face to face sales. Ya i takes longer but the buyer and the seller save so much gold on face to face sales.

I think encouraging face to face sales was kinda the point.

tbh I kinda hate f2f sales. As it means I, and the other person, have to go out of our way to go find the other. And not only that it would reduce /zone spam.
It would be so much simpler just to find an AH and buy stuff from there.

Sometimes developers make the wrong decisions and need to hear from the players about them. Feed back in this regard is useful, and can improve the game.

For example: Final Fantasy 14 tried to implement a bazaar-based economy. It was cumbersome, time consuming and annoying to use. The players let them know it. They listened - added an auction house. The game got better as a result.

A similar experience needs to happen here.

    Read the forums.

People who are unhappy with something go to forums to complain.
People who are happy just play the game and have little reason to go to the forums.

Trying to get an accurate guess how happy the customer base is with some feature just from reading the forums makes about as much sense as trying to judge public happines with supermarket services by polling the people standing in a line at the supermarket's complaint departement.

You do realise the majority of the people on the forums are tying to help the game be the best it can they are not here to mindlessly complain (obviously some are but not most) and if the majority of people are happy with the game exactly the way it is why would they not come to the forums to express themselves....its not like they can be enjoying the game 24/7 with out taking a minute to say a little thank you.

The forums are the single most accurate way to judge how happy the customer base is you just have to look at the sheer number of views on each thread to realise this and the vast majority are all people who love the game giving suggestions, reporting problems and socialising. Not using the forums doesn't make you a happy player it makes you a stupid player.
