Achievements: per account or per character?

This isn't a pressing topic, or one people may even care about but...

Does anyone know if achievements are per character or per account? When checking achievements on each of my characters, only the achievements for that character are in my journal. So far, I haven't encountered a way to quest in PvE areas outside the character's chosen alliance. Does this mean it will be impossible to 100% the game? The main achievements screen seems to indicate otherwise (with progress bars that track the full range of points, not just ones available to a single alliance).

It seems weird that characters would be allowed into the quest lines of other alliances, especially at a higher level. Does this mean achievements will be pooled per account, so the quests, sky shards and lore found in each alliance will count towards total achievements?

achievements are per character, confirmed with 3 of my characters, each gets own achievements seperately :)

The PvE areas for the other alliances open up once you hit 50.

And achievements are per character. They mean nothing; they're just there to record your major accomplishments and help find skyshards.

I believe it is possible for a character to switch alliances with PvP points. This would theoretically allow for the 100% completion. I have no experience in doing so, nor can I personally confirm the existance of this feature.

Your choice of Alliance will also affect PvP. The three alliances battle it out in Cyrodiil, constantly trying to gain control of the area, and the throne. Although you will be able to switch alliances much later in the game, you will be locked into your initial choice for some time, so if you don't plan ahead, you may end up having to slay your friends in battle!

EDIT: Didn't know about other alliances opening up at 50 as per Nerevarine1138's post. I suppose that makes it even easier.

I'm not looking for "meaning." I just want to see the status bars at 100%.

Thanks @nerevarine1138. Although, working a level 5-10 area at level 40+ is gonna suck. I'd much rather pool achievements from all of my characters.

    No. No. No.

It is not possible for your character to switch alliances at all. You can explore other alliance territory once you're in the Veteran ranks, but there is no alliance switching mechanic, period. If they do add it, it will be for real money, not alliance points.

The areas are scaled up to Veteran ranks for you.

Sorry, but to some of us they do mean something. I am an Achievment nut, I know you don't care but they do mean something to some of us.

Unbunch the underwear, please. I meant that they carry no tangible, in-game benefits like, for example, WoW achievements that grant a pet, mount or some kind of toy.

I'm sure they're very meaningful on a personal level, but that's a subjective measure of worth.

Achievements grant titles, trophies, and even exp and vet points as well, they do have meaning tho unless you are an achievement *** like myself they probably dont mean as much. Gotta *Achieve'em All!

Nice. I wasn't aware of the veteran points you get from the veteran dungeon achievements.

That said, the only other benefits are titles, which are mostly related to PvP ranking. I don't see any experience or trophy rewards at present.

I thought i had seen those, and honestly i was counting vet points as a type of experience but gave the distinction as an after thought so it was known bout it being for Vet level, but they do point you to where to get trophies, and trophies do include things like the skeleton costume and what not

Nope you can go back. The town is on fire so there are no stores, but you can still find the NPC's and get the achievement. I did it that way as well.
