Server Maint. Downtime wishes!

LaxCats01ub17_ESO
After reading the Server Status Forums, at first it seemed when they said will be back up by Midday this would take awhile and having the new patch 1.0.3 would be a big reason for that, but after reading further down the official post from server support the European Megaserver was only down 4hrs 2mins so my wish is for the NA Megaserver to hopefully be around the same amount of downtime :-P

down at 8am expected back up by midday.. yup 4 hours -_-
  • LaxCats01ub17_ESO
I'm not sure if this patch has the new Adventure zone that was announced but even if it doesn't I won't complain about 4 hours compared to another MMO I won't namem cough...W..cough..O..cough..W taking a little longer a lot of times with no patch being released and a lot longer with patch being released.
  • LaxCats01ub17_ESO
Oh and I just re-read all the post in the server status forums and patch notes, this patch will just be another fix patch. I guess when the new content comes out it will prob. be version 1.1.0

Craglorn, the first Adventure Zone, coming soon. This sounds like ESO releasing it's first Raid Group zone and adding the competitiveness of Challange Mode in with it, and yes I'm sure this new content will start of very buggy and through time will get better and better.

What makes you think that? The core game hasn't gotten better and better in months. If anything, since beta, it's gotten worse. It's unfinished and a buggy mess - and they want to add new content?

I will agree with you about new content coming out this soon already. I think more focus should be on the core game that has it's share of bugs, but when I say in time it will get better and better I take into consideration what I went through with other major MMO's during the vanilla launch and all the bugs and issues that were happening. I remember like it were yesterday how frustrated I was with WoW during the launch and I was so frustrated with the bugs and felt like after months they were never going be fixed bc I was thinking the same way you are now about how it had its testing time during beta to be fixed and perfected to the point of minor bugs that wouldn't impact the experience. Now it's rated one of the most subscribed MMORPG with tons of improvements every patch. The only think that really would have me concerned about this MMORPG with the bugs involved, would be the rapport Bethesda has had with bugs and issues in their ESO and Fallout games and never getting them resolved completely. With that being said though, those were all singleplayer RPG's that only brought additional profit towards game improvements via DLC's and that was Bethesda, now we have ZeniMax stepping up to the plate with a popular Game series turned MMO and 14.99 a month subscribers. So it's to soon for me to pull the plug on what I knew would be rough waters early on but for those upset with how the game plays out right now and feel like they wasted there money on the price of the game should just unsubscribe and see what the future brings.

Craglorn is not being added in this patch. AFAIK it's already in-game.

Like I said I re-read the patch notes and saw where this is another maint. patch. As far as Craglorn I for sure know it's at least not out on Live Megaservers yet but certain people are beta testing it.

I'm excited for the patch all around, and not even so much for the patch itself. What I mean by that is they're actually listening to feedback and changing the game based on it. This is a good sign for the game

What game have you been playing? ESO has not even been live for a fortnight, let alone "months".
Even counting early access, it's only been 16 days including today.
If you want to go back months, you have to go back to earlier beta builds, and it's definitely improved since then.
Finally, Craglorn has been in development since 2013; it's development is and has been separate from bug-fixing the live release.

Was for the benefit of others, there were still some complaining that they're working on Craglorn rather than fixing bugs.

What I pray for is that they fix Motes in the Moonlight. Aldmeri dominion is having a rough time in our last map due to an impassible storyline quest.

But they are working on Craglorn rather than fixing bugs (at least they're insisting they're working furiously on it)...

We'll have more chance of them bugfixing once Craglorn is released but they'll also add a thousand new bugs so that will cancel out the benefit.

  • plasticarrow
Game has been out officially for 11 days. Stop whining. Whine after 6 months if the problems haven't been fixed. Welcome to MMOs.

Separate development team. As it is in most games, bug fixing is separate from new content.

Well, looks like we have even more time to think on our wishes. Check the Server Status section.

Let me get this straight..... downtime scheduled to end "by midday" is taking "a little longer than expected," and will be done by "this EVENING?" If that's "a little longer," I'd hate to see what a major delay might mean!

LOL And what is so different that the EU patched with no issues, yet NA is taking a little longer. What's the deal? Should we all switch and play on EU? Am I missing something?

My server downtime wish is for Fus Ro Dah to be implemented so we can get a bit of fresh air...because that stinks :(

It would be a lot easier to take if they'd just be straight up about it. Doubling the downtime is not "a little longer." Just be clear and come out with it. "Everything went straight to b0rk and we're having to fix some major ***, sorry about that."

Posting "taking a little longer than we thought, tee hee! see you in 6 hours" just sounds a little off. o.O
  • mordicai052
I don't care if they take the game down until tomorrow evening. Just sit down and fix it. They are killing themselves with emergency downtime quick patches that don't really solve anything. Get it sorted, then come back up.

this company is an absolute joke. two segments of downtime this close together - i wonder when they're going to start refunding days of people's subscribed time. so stupid, first of all, to have downtime in the middle of the damn day like this, and worse to do it twice within the span of a couple of days.... were they just not concerned with fixing everything at once? i love the game, but this is getting to be really, really dumb.

You are because they just took down EU for the second time today.

Before that I was playing and had several hellish lag spikes of 5-10s each - the first time this has ever happened. Guess we did have "issues"...

I'm yet to see evidence of any such thing in any game. You guys will swallow anything. ;)

    But seriously... you will.

Honestly.. I do know this but resources are moved around as required. If you're relying on a band-aid crew to fix those bigger bugs - forget it. If new content is being rushed (that word is so dangerous in gaming) then you know where the human resources will be. Unless they're smart of course but so far...

I'm just not buying anything at this point having seen things like this and heard promises like this for years now in the industry - to the point where it's the norm.

Early days but I'm a jaded for a reason.

I don't know about anyone else, but the "cutesy" service announcements and customer service policies are wearing a little thin. I've heard quite a few stories from guildies about "escalating to an Elder Wizard" featuring prominently in CS responses. Now the company is brushing off a significant addition of time as a "no biggie." Riiiiiight.
