Speed hack

Nicor
Nicor
lvl 24 speed running through 29 area it looked like beyond mount speed on feet. i tried to report in game but it wants me to leave a window open to talk to someone. (what happened to email and submit screenshot?) apparently i'm not smart enough to find how to email this on the website. so i'm posting this here. Obviously this isnt the best place to post. but when i clicked on support i saw no email option to report. so here i am reporting.

I would remove the username on your post until you had real proof that he was
hacking" considering he could have been on a horse that your computer could not see or had a potion, spell or server lag issue that could make it look like a super human...

Also the horse is very slow, till u feed it be able to run faster than a walking player... Meaning, a running player runs faster than a horse at base stats.

Do you feed with food ur horse? There is 3 type of foods, one that gives stamina, one that gives speed and 1 that gives 1 slot to ur bag. My horse was 15% speed and now it is 20% because I fed it for 5 days, speed food.

I will make it 30% speed and the rest will go to my bag slots. But I am satisfied with 20%, it feels like a horse-speed... better

I agree with those who've mentioned quest buffs. I've got the steed stone buff and had some quest buffs around that level that together had me running pretty quickly. Faster than my mount it seemed like, which to be fair still isn't very fast because I'm trying to save for one of the 42k ones.

yes its a good investment... I was by feet till lvl 35-37 be able to get it! Because I used many of my loots to raise my crafting. Now I am rank 2 veteran and I almost got another 42k for my alt!

considering this guy was sitting around playing a lute. i doubt he had any speed buffs. also it was the final part of the quest to kill that mage in greedshade right before you board the boat. kill the commanders. or save the hostages.

Not on a open public forum. I would have just opened a support ticket if you really think it was a hack... the teleport hack I saw they are under the world and instantly get from one node to another... Ive not heard of a super run hack since a mistake with an item in beta.

Please be careful who you ban, there is a bug with the werewolf quest where you can get the speed boost permanently. I can confirm this for myself when I thought the werewolf quest was broken, and my friend who decided to cure it after he could not complete the quest due to it being too difficult for him.

    In defence

During my 17 days of playing twice if have found myself being able to move very fast with no reason for it or buffs showing in the character screen, i.e. normal movement was as fast as sprinting and sprinting was much faster than being on my horse, while walking was about as fast as normal movement, to contrast this, when the 1st person arms locked bug strikes (dual wilding related) it goes the opposite way, in that sprinting is as fast as normal walking, normal movement is very slow, while walking is hardly moving (~10cm[~4in]/sec).

The two occasions of fast movement happened after once leaving wayshrine and the other time after crossing the bridge from Stormhaven to Bangkorai, both of which involve transition loading screens while the new data is loaded.

    Rapid Maneuver

    Cast Time: Instant
    Radius: 20m
    Cost: 105 Stamina
+20% movement speed for allies for 20 seconds.
Grants immunity to snares and roots.
Break when an attack is made.
    Morphs
    Retreating Maneuver: Increases speed bonus.
Charging Maneuver: Allies also gain bonus damage for one attack.

Also, there is a quest that lets you select your 'spirit animal', so once you visit any shrine in the world, you're granted a speed boost for an hour.

Also, many quests grant speed bonuses, and I believe there are other actual skills that grant speed bonuses as well.

I'd like to point out, as others have done, that there are many ways to achieve fast speeds within the game.

Hell, I can reach 147% movement speed while stealthed which is faster than the majority of players can run on their horses at this time. To break the game even more, I could toss down Path of Darkness for another 50%.

Just because somebody is moving at a high rate of speed, it doesn't mean that they are hacking. >.>

Except this is the exact reason that it is not allowed.

You get people crying foul on legitimate players due to their own lack of knowledge about the mechanics within the game.

As I said before, there are many ways to achieve 'broken' speeds within the game.

With simple buff stacking, my character can reach in excess of 200% movement speed. While stealthed. It's not hacking, or cheating, it's simply stacking buffs.

And in that situation, what would happen if somebody saw me and thought I was a hacker?

They would do what OP has done and start posting about a 'cheater' and a 'hacker'. Naming and shaming leads to innocent people being targeted.

For those that might be curious:

    Shadow Dancer (no stealth penalty) 100% + Concealed Weapon 22% + Steed Stone 5% + Cripple 15% + Rapid Maneuver 17% + Path of Darkness 50% = ...

    209% movement speed while stealthed.

That's just what I have access to as a Nightblade, there's undoubtedly other buffs available.

Add in some armor pieces with the Divine trait to improve the Steed Stone effect, and you might be able to go even faster. :p

But as other have said, there are plenty of legitimate ways to get an insane speed buff, plus glitches that might cause a player to move faster than intended by accident.
Just because someone is moving incredibly fast, it does not means that he's "hacking", and naming them on the forums will not help.

    Good thinking.

I'm not sure if Rapid Maneuver caps at 17% or if the bonus increases with higher rank. It might go to 20%, but I'm not sure.

    That's potentially another 3%! :p

At VR level, my Nightblade while sprinting can keep up with or pass many a horse. And I can sprint quite while. That comes from skills/abilities and is not a hack.

Although I do not remember if I could have done that at level 24.

And I hope I am not being reported for hacking....that would suck.

I can confirm that there is a bug with the werewolf quest and gaining extraordinary speed permanently. I have reported this issue numerous times and I am currently waiting for a call back from CS.

After completing the quest to become a werewolf I noticed I still had the Sanies Lupinus buff active on my character, which should have been removed after completing the quest and becoming a werewolf.
After a couple of days I decided that the werewolf was way to bugged to be of any use and went to cure it, paid the gold to the priest and he cured my Lycanthropy. Problem was I still had the original disease and could now no longer try out vampire.
So I went to the werewolf shrine and since I had the disease I was able to interact with the scroll and accept the quest to become a werewolf again. I did so in hopes that this time the disease would be correctly taken off in favor of the Lycanthropy buff. However when inside I was unable to preform any attacks and was forced to leave the area.
On exiting the area I noticed that I had a HUGE speed boost, and was able to sprint faster than any mount I came across.

Moral of the story; careful who you report for things, there are a lot of bugs right now.
