FPS DROP FIX IT

2/5 times I get knocked down to the ground I get an fps drop. Game drops from 100fps to 10. I have the latest drivers for my gtx 780. It's especially irritating when you're fighting a boss and bam 10fps, and I lose when I was about to win..

I'm been fighting this boss in skyrim some guy with an axe. Every single time he knocks me down I go from 100fps to 10 and thus lose cause I can't properly play. Not only that but it seems that blocking is also broken. I block all his charge attacks and right before he hit me my character stops blocking like wtf. I have half of my stamina this shouldn't be happening.

I have noticed that this problem mostly happens with Intel and the GTX 7xxx series.

Same here. GTX 780! This lag started since the previous patch from last week got installed. I also noticed some special points/borders on the map. Everytime you walk through your FPS drops to 1-5. You can repeat this by moving back and forward. Never happend to me in a single Beta. Neither right after release. Its definately some kind of a Patchproblem that put this into play

Ever thought this could be an issue with an Nvidia driver? Perhaps try a different one.

Side note, running ATI R290 and no fps drops.

Nvidia have confirmed the problem is not with their drivers.

I've tried 5-7 drivers. It is always the same problem.
With older drivers, the system crashes very often.
I have at moment the new beta driver 337.50, that has not helped.

Yeah I highly doubt it's the drivers, I've been through 3 different ones since release. I played the beta twice with my gtx 780 never had a single issue. As soon as the full game is released I start getting fps drops and stuttering/freezing issues, usually when I'm listening to music while playing, but not exclusively.

I know it's not I just posted it that way because I was extremely frustrated at the time, especially given the fact that it happened multiple times in a row. I'll keep it in mind for next time.

I don't really see how dropping to 10 fps would cause you to lose a fight. Particularly since when you're knocked down you can't actually do anything until you get back up. Likely it has nothing to do with your graphics card. Use something like Afterburner to see what the GPU utilization is. If it drops with your frame rate then it isn't the rendering, it's the application just not telling it to draw. Use perfmon to see if your cores max out, or just one does. That's more likely to screw up game play. Not the actual rendering, but the latency between you performing an action and feedback actually appearing on screen. Overall there seems a problem with syncing to the server. I'll have the power up, plenty of mana, retile on the mob, spamming the power, but it doesn't fire.

There must be something going on with your system and drivers. I have an i7-4770k and a GTX 780ti and I do NOT have this issue.

A lot of players with GTX780's are experiencing this, specifically 780 series.

I'm led to believe the game isn't optimized especially in some of the later level zones. I have an i7-3930k I bought 3+ years ago and get FPS drop issues with my 780.

Well I can't react fast enough after I get back up, because the screen is lagging. Bots in the game aren't affected by my fps drop, they'll continue to move at the same rate as they normally would. I however, move slow, sluggish, and can't see what's going on since it's all stuttery etc. I use EVGA precision with rivatuner, it's my fps that drops from 100 to 10fps. My GPU usage is varies depending on the zone I'm in, but I haven't noticed if it drops when the fps itself drops, since I'm forced to quit instantly to get it to work again.

No problems here on EVGA GTX 770, especially after turning down view distance (though FPS was never a problem in dungeons). I know GTX 780 is vastly different hardware, but wanted to add the data point anyway.

Does the FPS drop show up in the /fps reported value? The Precision X/RivaTuner FPS never really worked for me.

Just a question for you guys that are having the problems, did you guys try the fix from this forum post? forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/77002/enable-sli-including-more-then-20fps-temp-fix#latest I have two 560TI's and this fix doubled my frame rates. In un-crowded areas I was lucky to get 60 fps and now I'm getting 100's at times. In crowded areas I was having a hard time getting 30 fps and am now pushing 60 in crowded areas. Also before you flame me I know this is an SLI fix, but I figured that it might not hurt for you guys to try it and see if it has any affect on your frame rates.

    Hey!

Try with SET GraphicsDriver.7 "OPENGL" on your "UserSettings.txt" and see.

    My 2 cents...

Almost sounds more processor related. This game along with many other MMO's (I'm looking at YOU GW2 lol) seems more CPU intensive than GPU.

I run a i7-3930k @4ghz (constant) along with GTX780 in 2 way SLI - yes I know SLI doesn't work... Just being thorough. Windows & ESO also run on separate Sata3 SSD's.

I run the game @ 2560x1600 with all settings maxed. I experience the very odd frame hit when shiz goes crazy.. but.. this frame hit only takes me down to about 45 frames.. then right back up to vsync :)

Try to change your UserSettings.txt on "C:/users/ACCOUNT/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/liveeu" (or live)

    SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D9" or SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11" by SET GraphicsDriver.7 "OPENGL"

And it's fixed for my friend.

I'm running a 3570k @ 4.2 and I usually don't get bad frame rates when there's a lot going on. I mean it will go down but it still plays smoothly sometimes I go from 100 to 80.

So I just tried this out and it worked until the game decided to crash, which had never happened to me before. So I go back and change it to D3D11 and now the game stutters and freezes constantly for half a second at random.

Running an i5 with a GTX560 and experiencing the same problem. Random stutters that not only affects the game but the entire computer. I Tend to listen to music while playing the game and each stutter pretty much makes everything on the computer sutter. It's odd since the games tends to run at around 60% cpu usage.
