New Breed of Node Bot

As of 4/14 in the very early a.m. I've seen a new kind of bot that harvests nodes. Same day, but in the afternoon, the Dalmora shine has 5 bots that no longer just teleport. They run around. But they run around in a consistent pattern and go to the same spots over and over whether there is a node there or not. If there happens to be one there, they loot it. This royally sucks and the game is unplayable. There is no way that I can compete with 5 bots.

Report them in-game then try to kite mobs towards them ...

I saw and reported one of these around the Bal Foyen Wayshrine yesterday evening. As you say, it repeated the same pattern over and over. I don't know about making the game unplayable, but it certainly doesn't help the crafters out there.

It's unplayable because I had to give up. The time invested wasn't reaping enough mats. I have reported them. I am like the ESO police. I spend almost an 1/8 of my "playtime" reporting spammers and bots. I really love this game but with my bank loosing 40 slots and the spam and bots, it's getting to be a little too much.

Why are you being the ESO Police? This is not a requirement to play the game.

I've encountered the bots and the spammers and I report a few but I always move on. I try not to make a life of it. Plenty of other people ignore them and plenty of other people report them. If you miss reporting someone, it will not be the end of things.

I've compared this to an MMO Whack-A-Mole. You don't have to be the only one who knocks them down.

We learned 10 years + ago that nodes need to be guarded and/or randomly placed to avoid botting.

Zenimax just dropped the ball on this because they needed to get harvesting in fast, to make their release window.

Lighten up. It's an exaggeration. I'm not really the ESO police. Sounding very witty and smart about something that's not even the issue does not contribute.

Besides, I talked to a CSR about reporting and he told me not to hold back and report as much as I can so that they can deal with the cheaters and hackers and make this game a pleasant experience for everyone. Just doing my part. I care. I love this game.
