Stop Complaining and give the Developer time to fix

This game just released barely a week ago and yet alot of people on these forums at least is up in arms over bugs that will be rectified. These sorts of bugs happen while they may be extremely annoying and sometimes game breaking give them a chance to fix it.

To all the fools posting they are canceling their subs good. You are simply a vocal minority and most likely Zenimax knows it. Go ahead scream and shout and cancel if you want, if you can't give them a few weeks to get everything running smooth then your better off hopping on the next "big" f2p mmo or wow killer because your of no use to the community here. When I had an issue that required customer support they as quickly as possible helped me to the best of their abilitiy I could hear the guy on the other end of the line exasperated as he had hundreds if not thousands of guys out there to deal with but did his best to help my situation. Forums are almost never a good indicator of true population status because most members of a community wont come to a forum you all are maybe 5-10% if that, so either stop complaining like spoiled children or leave the community.

I can complain all I want, I paid for something that is broken... I have lost time with losing all my items, skill points and research.

Also my guild of 400 did a survey of who had bank problems and 52 are having problems with lost items... so you are right not many are coming to the forums to complain they just quit. (anyway several are stuck on Vet rank 1)

I suppose a community of 50k people that is active in the support section only, is seen as a stable community somehow.

So, how long, exactly, should people be patient with "my bank randomly resets"? I think that's a pretty major bug?

Because it's been a known bug for 4 months. It was reported *again* in early release (just in case they somehow thought they'd fixed it).

I don't know about you, but I've worked in data management before. And exactly zero of my employers tolerated data loss 'bugs' for over 4 months.

Customer support may have been swell for you - but for me, they have done nothing. Zilch. Problem not fixed. Ticket marked 'solved' when all they've done to solve it is email me roleplay text about Molag Bal's naughty minions.

I have also worked in customer service before. And, once again, exactly zero of my employers tolerated me listing customer issues as 'solved' when there had been no effort to actually solve anything.

While I am not one of the one's screaming, I think folks do have a reason to be frustrated. Its not like these problems haven't been around since the first of early start. It's just now with more players the problems are magnified. Its just been snowballing. They have had time to fix them, this is the first start up MMO I have played that hasn't had multiple client side patches the first days of "live" play. This is Zeni's fault for poor planning and implementation, I can say that and I actually love the game and <knocks on wood> have only had very minor problems.
What is written above are my honest opinions. If you agree then; "Great!" If you disagree; "Great!" I really couldn't care less either way.

I have an idea, how about you stop worrying about what others are saying and doing and just keep to yourself, mkay pumpkin? Who are you to tell people to stop complaining when they clearly have a valid reason to?

If the game was so broke, it should not have been released. They had all the time in the world but decided to go for the money grab instead of putting out a product that was ready. Stop coddling them, you would not accept it in any other product you purchased, why does it being a game make it any different?

Have you been able to log in ok? Lost your characters, items, bank upgrades? Have you had any real problems w/ the game whatsoever? If not great, but there are people having issues that literally make the game unplayable and this is the Customer Support section of the forums.

So, people should just keep quiet over extremely severe or even game breaking bugs that are still present after more than 2 weeks or possibly longer?

We are paying good money every day to play this game. Small bugs are to be expected yes, but bugs on the magnitude were are seeing should NEVER have been allowed to make it out of beta. Or at the very least have been stomped out withing a few days. We are talking 2+ weeks now of wasted playtime/diminished enjoyment. Couple that with the horrible treatment from the support crew that just feed you some copy paste RP crap, close your ticket and ignores you.

It took them even 2 weeks to acknowledge that there was a problem and make a small footnote mention of it here on the forum. We are yet to see any real explanation or apology for any of it.

If I bought any other product and it still didn't work properly after 2 weeks after I had bought it, the buyer didn't fix it, they ignored my attempts on getting support, it would be completely intolerable.

Broken quests? I can live with that, and do other things until it's fixed.

Lag and long load times? Game's brand new, as long as I can somewhat play most of the time, I'm satisfied.

Losing my helmet because I hastily tapped F at the refinement screen before choosing a raw material to refine? That's a pretty stupid bug to still have around, but it's not like I'm rushing to 50, and any gear I have will easily be replaced anyway, so it's annoying, but I can deal.

My bank arbitrarily resetting to default capacity, losing any purchased upgrades, losing any deposited gold, and potentially losing any/all items placed in it... ...I can not live with that so much.

Gods help me if I was one of the poor souls who actually had all of their spent skillpoints and character inventory disappear last night, because that's pretty much game-over.

My point is: There are a lot of bugs that level-headed players can and should live with for now, BUT there are some pretty disastrous, game-ruining bugs right now.

I want the game to do well. I love playing it. I haven't enjoyed playing any online game as much as I'm enjoying TESO. Problem is I'm on the forums right now and not actually playing because I'm afraid that logging in will reset my bank (again) or cause my character's skillpoints and inventory to vanish.

Ive ran into a few bugged quests, been stuck in cyrodill loading screen for 3-4 hours and lost a few items in the bank im not saying there are no problems or things to be worked out but what im saying is give them a chance to fix it this is launch for one of the biggest mmos to come out in recent memory. Do you realize how much code goes into a game like this. I'm frustrated but my whole point is to be empathetic and give them longer than a few days to fix everything before complaining about subs.

Early Access is not launch. Sure they will have an idea of these bugs but until the game launches and they can see the full load the servers will take not to mention how the bugs will spread out over the game population if it does'nt come together within a week or so then yea there's a huge problem on hand. I was'nt making a blanket statement to insult anyone but more so because so many complain about a canceled sub. If the entire community takes that attitude and bails in the first few weeks what could've been an excellent quality p2p mmo goes down the tubes because nobody wanted to stick it out when it was rough
  • rrcottinb14_ESO
This is the launch of what will be one of the shortest lived MMOs in history unless they fix it now. Do you not remember SWTOR (or insert any of the other failed next great things here)? They had big budgets and even bigger IP in some cases. They are all dead or dying F2P games now because they did not fix it quick enough. Sure, a few thousand fan boys hang on but, that is not going to support a development effort. So, people complaining and canceling subs until it is fixed (which might get ZOS's attention since god only knows customer service requests don't) might be the only way to save this steaming pile from the rubbish bin.

They've had well more than a few days already. I've already unsubcribed. They have my remaining pre-paid time to convince me (and several of my friends/family) to resubscribe. Their overwehelmed customer service people have my empathy for being expected to deal with this fiasco without, apparently, the tools and authority to do so. The suits who decided to launch this game in this condition? No empathy. I don't tend to have much empathy for well-paid incompetence.

How the hell do you people know that their attention isnt focused on the issues? It's clear that these game breaking bugs are out there and now they focus their attention on fixing it. Look at the big picture do you know how many thousands of people have these issues they are working on it now instead of wasting time responding to the same complaint id rather they focus efforts into fixing what is broken not giving people an imaginary time frame so that they can "feel" reassured.

You think that people talk about cancelling subs to punish Zenimax or something? I get that you want to tell other people how to feel and act, but most people don't want to pay money each month for a broken game that resets your items, gold, progress, and characters. It's quite literally a waste of time.

Subscribers are customers who pay money for a stable game environment. It's their job. They get paid (by us); I don't care how much code there is. If they're asking for my money, then the game should be stable. I should be able to log on and at least play without fear of wasting my time.

Let them not charge us money while they work on getting a stable game. Or, let them release a game that is stable from the release date, i.e. no rollbacks, disappearing loot or gold or characters, and a customer service that cares enough to work with their customers instead of telling them to roll another toon.

If you want to just yell at people who are dissatisfied with the current state of the game and Zenimax's response to these gamebreaking issues, fine. Have at it.

Nice way to edit my post. But in regards to the suits you can be damn right the Suits told them they were launching on time this is a HUGE IP and a extremely well invested project you think the suits were gonna say go ahead and launch late were not ready no they were'nt. That does'nt mean however that the DEVELOPMENT team is not able to fix these issues.

The game has game-breaking bugs and needs work I totally understand the point of this post was to get across my opinion that we should at least give them a bit more time before making blanket statements such as leaving the game. This is a huge product and it is P2P that means your actively paying for a stable well developed environment this I understand but we are as I said a week in and this is a MMO this sort of thing happens on launch sometimes if they don't fix it unsubscribe of course but a week into launch talk of unsubscribing over bugs is pretty ludicrous.

Yes. Putting in that "..." is a standard way of letting people know that you posted more, but I clipped a particular section of it. In this case, because I was responding to one thing - your suggestion that the situation warranted empathy. They've already had more than a few days. By your own argument, they've run through their allotment of 'empathy' from players.

Ok a few days at this point has passed but come on a week? Game just launched a week is an extremely limited period of time especially when alot of people are just now getting full access to the game. I admit this launch certainly has it's bugs and couldve been handled better but that does'nt mean we as the community cant ride it out for at least our first 30 days there are plenty of other mmos out there besides this one, I came here for the world and the lore if the rest came here for the same thing isn't it better to give a pretty damn fun game like this more than a week to fix bugs when the core content of the game is so much fun?

Not particularly, if a bug is impeding your ability to play a game, then effectively you're paying for nothing. No sense in keeping a sub going in a game you can't play, might as well cancel and come back when/if it gets cleaned up.

LOL, why do people say early access is not launch? It was. Spin it anyway you want, but it was launch. A perk for paying them money well in advance was access to the game early; that makes it the launch.

Beta or stress test are where you are supposed to find out if your product is good enough for launch, not launch. Their product was not ready but they rolled it out anyway. Don't blame the customers, this rest squarely on them.

Also, I am really not sure why people still call it an MMO. It is more like a MSPOGWSNTGBNO - Massive Single Player Online Game With Some Need to Group But Not Often.
