How do I buy game time for a friend?

I have a good friend that is laid off. He is barely getting by and wants to play ESO, but can't afford it unti he starts a new job and gets caught up on bills. So I'm going to help him out and buy the game for him. I see where to do that under "buy another copy". But how do I buy him game time? He doesn't have any money in his bank account. So even with 30 free days he won't be able to play because of the "varify payment method" road block.

I would like to know how I can buy him a months sub to go along with the free 30 days so that he can just download and play w/o any hassle. Please help if anyone knows how this can be done without sending him money. Thanks

Game time cards/codes first gets available on the 28th of april I believe, other than that, you can only send him money to buy it himself I guess. Although you should be able to "verify" his 30 days of free playtime, you just gotta use your own CC on his account, and just cancel the sub right after :)

Because it violate terms of service, I definitely cannot suggest that you log onto his account and pay for his game and sub in that manner.

I definitely did not do this for two of my friends

    Wink wink.

(You can choose to not having payment information saved, so there's no risk of him seeing your credit card information or whatever).

You can buy him a 60 day card that is sold in some stores, he just have to insert the 60 day in the redeem code section.

It was mentioned above that you coulnt by game cards till the 28th? Can you get digital cards, or do you have to actually go to a retail store to get them?

And I've heard plenty of horror stories of people not being able to play if they no money in their account, despite the 30 free days.

You need to have $15 on your credit card for a temporary authorization fee.

Any confirmation on whether or not game cards can be purchased yet and where? Or digital? Sorry I'm mobile right now.

Dude, dont kick your friend when he is down; buy him a game that actually works.

    They are not available yet.

I can confirm that Best Buy in Medford, Oregon had the 60-day time card for 29.99 on the shelf. Was there thinking of getting a Logitech 310.

And doing a quick check : Amazon shows them available since the 4th but gives a 2-5 week delay.

And I can't find the guy, but someone either here or on Reddit apparently was having issues with his card or something and got a 0-day code through contacting support, as I recall (Not sure, but it's something else you can try).

I see that amazon has them, but as you mentioned, 1-2 months for shipping O.O
This system is ridiculous. He shouldn't be required to have money in his account in order to use the 30 free days, and it shouldn't be this difficult for me to buy him game time. I have been supporting this game endlessly, but this situation really irritates me. It's unexcusable business practice.

If you contact support due to insufficient funds... they bypass the whole needing a credit card. Figured that would have been public knowledge by now.

Thanks, I didn't know that since it wasn't an issue for me.

    Cool, so I wasn't miss-remembering that thread.
