Vendor voices suddenly no longer working?

Greetings All !

I played last Thursday night without any issues. I woke up early Friday morning and played for about an hour. At the time, I noticed that the NPC vendors' audio was no longer working. I could hear other NPC comments from around the area / city, just not the vendors.

At the time, I thought it was odd, but figured it would probably work itself out the next time I logged on. And then I went out-of-town for a funeral over the weekend. I returned this afternoon to find the same thing: The vendors no longer have audio!

Has anybody else reported this sort of thing?

I'm not sure if it's related, but I also discovered that I can BARELY hear any of my comrades in Vent, even with Vent's Input volume maxed out.

Like I said, to my knowledge, nothing's changed with this PC's configuration.

Thanks!

Well, I take that back. I seem to be missing footsteps, including horsesteps, and my "whistling" for my horse, as well.

Sometimes audio files stop functioning. I've yet to determine the cause, it almost seems random. And in similar fashion, they randomly start working again.

I only take issue when it during quests, because I like hearing the dialogue spoken.

You can always just relog and it will be fixed.

Oh, and now I see that quest-givers aren't talking anymore either. Hmmm.....

Shut down the game, restarted, logged back in, no change.

I figured it out: headset issue. Biggest clue was when I tested Windows 7's text-to-speech feature. The control panel lets you play a sample. And she sounded very low volume, just like my friends in Vent.

So I unplugged my headset and plugged in my speakers. Not only can I hear my friends again, inside the game, everything that wasn't working for me, now is.

    Thanks!
