Greetings Vestige!
All players are required to set up and choose a subscription plan starting on Sunday, April 6th.
The 30 days of free game time are granted to all players who fill out their billing information and select a subscription plan.
For credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal, there is no charge made until after the included 30 days of game time has expired. For these payment methods, there is an authorization check performed to ensure the payment method is valid. Players may see a temporary account authorization hold put on funds in their account while the verification completes. Usually, this authorization hold lasts a short period of time before being removed. The duration of this hold can vary from bank to bank.

Visa Credit Card
MasterCard Credit
Paypal
Prepaid Credit Cards
American Express CC & Amex Prepaid (may take 3-7 days to authorize)
Debit Cards

Thank you for your continued interest and support!

Warm Regards,

I played the beta a few times and I did a pre-order a few days before launch. It said I was to get 30 days free, I haven't been able to play a week after launch because I have to setup a subscription BEFORE I can play. this is not FREE. I don't even know if I want to do a subscription because I haven't played enough to know if I like the game. If it's necessary for me to do a subscription BEFORE I get 30 days access FREE then I'm going to opt out of the game all together. Just no worth it to me and I guess I'll just keep paying my Lord Of The Rings subscription (6 years playing) till your company gets things worked out on this issue.

my response to that was:
This is sad indeed but unfortunately I'm just not going to sign-up for something and commit myself to paying in one way or another for a game I thought would be a better choice than Lord Of The Rings Online that I have been playing and paying a monthly since 2007. I will consider this your final word and move on and eat the price I already payed for the digital download. I really just can't see even keeping this game on my computer . Good day.

Set up a sub model. Have presence of funds verified. Redeem 30 days free.

    No charge is sent.

Yes that is the way it works. A bit shady but you have to accept if you want to play.

You set up the sub and then just cancel it if you don't want to continue after the 30 days included game time, its no big deal.
  • marioncobretti
I am sorry that you could not play the game.
But look, I think that you can choose the subscription plan and play your 30 day for free. You can quit after this if you decide to cancel the plan. I think you won`t be charged if you cancel it before the free 30 days end. This needs confirmation but seems clear to me. Try asking support again if you can cancel within the 30 day `trial` and not get charged even after choosing a plan.
    Good luck!

I can confirm this for you. No charge will be sent.

All they want is to send a verification of funds to payment models to make sure that they are legit.

    That's it.

I don`t know about you guys but I am not quitting. I find ESO so amazing in so many aspects! I wish everyone can have fun as I am having.

The funny thing is, the OP is no longer active on the forums.

Instead of sticking around to hear some actual insight about his 'issue', he posted his complaint and logged off.

If it wasn't for his knee jerk reaction, he would've seen that no charge will be sent and he could indeed redeem his included 30 days with ease.

Its not shady at all its common practice, if you cant afford to play a subscription based game dont buy it, lesson learned, I doubt you get the point probably see your name in the forums of a different mmo in two years asking the same question lol.
