Lack of communication

negativehybrid
I know the game has been recently released but honestly even the worst MMO's I've played at the minimum say something like "Servers going down for emergency hotfix estimated time 1-2hours" I mean they literally give us no information. "we are looking into the issue thank you for your patience". I absolutely love this game that's why I'm so angry about this. I wouldn't have any complaints if they just got better with communicating with us, I know it cant be too hard to give some basic information. Please, I feel like I have lost my drugs I am having withdrawals!

Generally when something is an emergency, one does not get a warning. I mean, i never received a note from the guy who planned on hitting my car going 45 last Halloween...

They call this a "server maintenance". That does not imply a patch or a hot fix. This is simply what every MMO does on a Monday or Tuesday morning. They just find it more convenient to do it on a Saturday night. How's that for not giving a fat f##k about us?

I get what you're saying bro, it has been this way since Beta. I totally agree with you that its an emergency and I have no issue with it being down. I am just saying the support and communication from the staff has been abysmal.

Having been in a server room when things are going to hell in a handbasket you get to the point where you try the next thing to fix it and eventually go. hell reboot it now. I rather think they hit that point. At that point you don't pick up your tea and take a sip while you compose a masterpiece of communication.

Instead you typically send out a frantic note. "Servers going down in [chosen time]." and at that time you reboot them and pray that does it.

Emergency maintenance isn't planned. If they plan maintenance, they will let you know. But if something is really wrong with the servers they don't need to give you a heads up. They need to fix it, they're not going to spend more time letting you know that they need to do it when they could just DO it.

Stop being purposefully obtuse. It does not make you look cool or sound smart. In fact, it make you look like a liar.

I am not just talking about tonight. I am talking about my experience as a whole, they are so vague about what is going on all the time.

The lack of communication about maintenances has been especially terrible in this game. I don't mind the maintenance itself, or even the 5 minute warning time, but we should atleast be told we expect this to take 2 hours, 5 hours, 12 hours, ect.

Last time they did one of these surprise maintenances it was at night like this and we were all left sitting here wondering if we should call it a night early or wait for the server to come back up because they wouldn't say ***. Turned out it didn't come back up for nearly 12 hours that time. The lack of communication is just unacceptable.

You pray that the servers come back up and that does it.

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

i'm fine with the emergency maintenance, but it'd be nice if they at least gave us some sort of "you know, this could take a while."

and a statement like that would make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. All I want is some basic information so I can either A: go to sleep B: sit here like a crack head but now I have option C: Sit here like a crack head wondering if its a mistake to go to sleep

I have had an issue for 7 days.. they acknowledged it not by responding to the ticket, but on these forums with a half assed "list", and that is it.

    So... good luck with that.

I've had a couple issues and they responded both times within 24 hours, so no complaint here.

Here we go with the I have had no issues everything is excellent posts. I personally submitted a ticket the first day of the early release. I was finally contacted yesterday. Clearly some kind of quality control is lacking, yeah you got helped but apparently we didn't.

Really? Well then I guess the average of 7 days vs 24 hours is 3 days...

3 day average to respond, of course my issue is still on going, so... the average could be 4 days or 8 days.

it actually makes me feel worse when people post they have no issue. I am like what is wrong with me why do all the bugs have to happen to me. Does support hate me what did I do to slight them.

it works the other way around for me, too. hearing about the terrible things happening for people (like losing bank goods) makes me glad for my relatively minor problems.
