I know this won't help many of you. For that I am sorry. Your issues will likely continue.

I was getting the unknown error and getting kicked from the game, every time I logged in, from late beta until a few days ago.

My only method to resolve the issue was to restart my router, which usually allowed me to play for 5-8 hours of uninterrupted play.

My ISP is EE (Everything Everywhere) from Orange Mobile. I live in the UK.

I argued my case with their tech support and after doing everything, i'd already done myself, with them, they sent me out the new EE V2 router, since plugging this in, 4 days have passed with absolutely no unknown errors, no slow log in, no long loading.

It is possible, that if any of you are using older style routers, that were supplied by your isp, that updating these to a newer version will also fix the problem for you.

I did everything, static ip, re installs of eso, drivers, even reinstalled my o/s, tried disabling firewalls, av, router firewalls, intrusion detection.. none of it worked. I can't think of anything else that could help.

I'd like to add, that the eso tech team, have replied to over 40 emails sent to them since late beta in efforts to help me resolve this issue. Whilst at times their "support" was annoying, since I'd already tried it, they did come up with ideas and checks that I hadn't thought of. Overall, I'd rate them at 10/10.

ESO support for me on this issue has been terrible, it would be nice if they could assist in identifying what about particular routers causes this issue, perfectly good hardware shouldn't need to be replaced due to a bug in the network design of an MMO.

I don't think they know, you'd need to list your router/isp and then tech's would need to see if there's a common issue with other people, it could simply be the way the router is designed to connect, it could be your router connects via a fiber optic box and it's causing an issue or that there's a misunderstanding between you, your isp and their log in servers, something tiny that is overlooked by other gaming systems (assuming you don't genuinely have problems with other mmos)

All they can do, is try to look at the problem solving from their end and I'm fairly confident now, that their end is just a contracted customer service org working on behalf of the devs, who have little to no actual resource to help you.
