Strings Attached to 30 Days of 'Free' Game Time...

I'm livid about this whole concept of having to provide credit card information before I can actually use the 30 days of 'free' game time that I'VE ALREADY PAID FOR with my game purchase.

I refuse to place my card information on file and at risk for absolutely NO reason! As much as I was looking forward to this game, and even though I already wasted $80+ on the game itself, it's wrong to require me to provide credit card information when I already have time available on my account. If I fail to set something up after the 30 days are done, then that's on me. But it should be MY CHOICE *AFTER* having 30 days to get to know the game and decide whether or not it's something I'm willing to invest in long term.

I don't care the you're just authorizing the card - and not really transacting against it. You are placing an unnecessary barrier to entry for those who WOULD HAVE been interested in paying your subscription fees - IF THEY"D BEEN GIVEN THEIR FREE 30 DAYS WITHOUT THE BS STRINGS ATTACHED.

It's back to GW2 I guess...

You can bypass the strings. Contact customer support, they'll give you a code or they'll add your activation key to your account.

    1. Like people pointed out: you can ask the team for a code or you can cancel your payment from going through. Both of them will grant you 30 days without spending money.
    2. Multiple MMOs work this way. You show them that you are willing to subscribe, they award you with free days. Why would they give free days for freeloaders who mooch off free days and then leave?
    3. You credit card information being at risk? If you are so afraid of that, you shouldn't have bought a credit card to begin with.
    Currently playing:
    Swims-In-Sap - CP200+ - Argonian Templar

Freeloaders who paid for the game with its advertised 30 days? How exactly are people who want to play their 30 days free game time without setting up a subscription deemed freeloaders? They have already paid.

Like the OP said, its a backwards policy that is a barrier people from playing an amazing game which they would likely subscribe to after 30 days of getting hooked anyway.
