Broken game is broken

I keep seeing threads posted about people permanently loosing their hard earned items in their bank...not to mention people being auto banned for sending in game mail to their guild, and people banned for giving their friends gold to buy things....this is inexcusable and if this continues this game will die quickly. I am going to unsubscribe if I continue to hear about the horrible experience some users have had with bans and loosing items. If you're going to charge $80+ for game....at least make sure those who pay can actually play the darned thing.

Also would like to suggest that any and all players that run into these situations immediately cancel their subscription, ask for a refund, and instead put the money towards a real MMO like Wildstar, WoW, FF, GW2, etc. The customer support and overall playability of this game is inexcusable thus far.

So let me get this straight...
Other people are having problems so you are threatening to quit the game in sympathy with them.
    Is that right?
Let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll...
Everything I say is just my opinion. Like it or not - that's all it is.

Yes that is correct. Some of my friends have had these problems.

Riddle me this...what is the point of playing and paying for a game where you randomly lose all your things, and/or, are perma banned for no reason?

I, scratch a door mouse's ears, have not experienced any significant killer bugs in game to date and hope that it remains so. I may be just one of the lucky few, gauging by these forums but, I'm having a really great experience and finding the game improving in stability as time passes. It's only been 1 week since launch.

I think this game is brilliant compared to any other MMORPG I have played. Harkens back to the pre-expansion WoW days in the first 6 months post launch, except ESO is far better in my opinion. It's like ZeniMax and Bethesda got together and decided to make an MMORPG the way an MMORPG was meant to be and they know it and express it through the many subtleties during gameplay.

In my opinion they can give the flying bird pole to all other MMORPG's and I will have no regrets or issues subscribing to this game. Praise Akatosh.

You clearly have never played pre-expansion WoW, and this game is nothing like most MMORPG's. It is riddled with bugs and the auction house is non existent and trading is done through guilds which are capped at 500 players, there's no raid dungeons at launch for gear, and as of launch the best in game gear is crafted gear.

DO NOT even mention this game in light of pre-expansion WoW...that was revolutionary, this game is a joke so far, but it is rather fun being one of the chosen few who have yet to have any real bugs at all.

Well, you can actually log in and play, so, yes, you're right, it IS nothing like WoW was at launch. Also, way less buggy, you sure you're not confusing one of the WoW expansion launches for the original release ten years ago?

I don't recall not being able to login to WoW at release. I also don't recall any bugs that made you lose the bulk of your in game items...instantly. It is not way less buggy, you clearly aren't a WoW player.

It's not WoW. Get over it.

I personally like it WAY better than WoW, and I played pre-expansion.

I have not had any significant glitches, bugs, boots, rollbacks etc etc etc. I can sympathize with those who are having trouble, but I believe them to be a very vocal minority.

The sky is NOT falling. This game will succeed.

Give them a few more weeks to fix and balance...it is an ongoing process.

Tweek, actually I played in the WoW Beta and bought the collectors edition and played it a lot through the first year. I'll agree with you that pre-expansion WoW was very fun in it's day and I have many fond memories of it. This game is at least duplicating that feeling for me if not surpassing my expectations, and the further I progress into the game the more I realize that indeed yes this game does contain a significant Elder Scrolls flair to it.

While an auction house could introduce a certain convenience I don't mind interacting directly with crafters and sellers. I have not tried using Guild Trade yet. I seriously hope that they continue to make crafting an integral part of acquiring the best gear as I woe the day they follow the dark trodden path down toward end-game grinding dungeons. Frankly,100 dungeon runs for a token of 6 to get some marginally better head gear is my very definition of a nightmare.

I sincerely hope, Tweek, that any issues you are experiencing, resolve so that you too may divine in the light that I have fore witnessed as I have in the past with other games in this series being that it is never as obvious on the surface as it truly is in it's underlying complexity.

    Praise Akatosh.

The game isn't broken at all, maybe a leak here and there but the vast majority that are never vocal on forums, aren't having any major issues, me included. Only reason I come to the forums it to try to help others.

Funny, I thought the most common complaint with a new MMO was that it didn't do anything new, and was just more of the same. Now that's a bad thing?

Yes, that's constructive. "I hope bugs only affecting a small minority affect more people!" Brilliant.

And if it did, I'd put in a ticket, and enjoy the game.

They need to add raid dungeons. If you can craft the best gear then the game is broken at this point where crafted gear at the highest tiers becomes cheap to pass around until the next update....where you can craft better gear????

The crafting the best gear system doesn't/has never worked in any MMO and I've played the vast majority of them.

A bot hasn't auto banned me, which again points to the "small minority" of players. I'm enjoying a game where a bot hasn't autobanned me.

I do have sympathy for those that have been banned, but it's something they'll work on, and we will all move on from there. A week if wrongly banned accounts isn't a fundamental flaw with a game that requires it's quick death.

That is the first I've heard of it. Are you saying it's a widespread issue? Because if it is, why aren't people freaking out on these message boards like they do for everything else?

No offense but I think you're being a bit dramatic. I truly believe that whatever bad things are happening, they are happening to a minority of people and Zenimax will work on fixing the issues.

It's still very early in the games' life....give the devs some time. Man, people are so impatient.

If the "banned for sending mail to guild members" thing is true, what's the motive behind it? Why would Zenimax implement such a policy? I doubt they would, and that's why I think it's a glitch that will be fixed eventually.

Please, enlighten me how MMOs "usually work" (a sentence which I have no idea why you said. But seeing as I've played MMOs for nearly 10 years, I'm not sure you could enlighten me).

I will and am having fun. Have fun freaking out when an amusement park ride breaks down for a few days because other people can't enjoy their favorite ride momentarily.

Actually Tweek, the best gear I've obtained so far in the game for my current level of 24 is through PvP rewards and spending APs at the vendors in Cyrodiil. Hopefully the crafting system remains complex enough that what you state does not come to pass, however I do understand your concern about very dedicated players flooding the marketplace with top-tier gear.

Perhaps we don't fully understand the implementation of such high level crafting as of yet. Perhaps only very rare combinations of materials acquired through world exploration are required to achieve such enlightenment so as to craft such wondrous and beautiful objects, not to mention the complexity of wizardry involved in enchanting such splendorous masterpieces.

In the Elder Scrolls world nothing is ever as obvious as it at first seems is my experience, and delight.

Also, you make it sound like the game is broken beyond repair. It's not...at all.

You make some valid points, although I do not agree with many....especially the ones saying this needs to be more like other MMO's.

I'm not trying to say your views are wrong or stupid or whatever...you're entitled to your opinions just like I am. But I do think you're exaggerating a bit and making a mountain out of a molehill.

You're not the only one...these forums are filled with doomsayers and chicken littles. But like I said...it's a small but very vocal minority.

The game is fine...I think people need to relax and be patient.

    Just my opinion.

    Nice analogy.

In response to what else you had to say....usually you see the devs fix game breaking issues within a few days. This game has issues from launch(early access) and they still aren't fixed, and there isn't even an official statement about them.

    This is what I meant.
