Pretty simply I can't cure the disease itself. I talked to the priest in Evermore to be cured of Lycanthrophy, which worked, but when I try to talk to him to cure the pre-quest disease I get no option to do so. Done it with the quest and without, no dice.

AFTER curing yourself from BEING a werewolf you will still have the original disease from being bit if it hasn't been 6 days. So, at this point, we have to wait out the 6 days to get rid of it.
