I honestly doubt the usefulness of thd current system. In theory, it can work. In reality, it's complete garbage.

Each guild is allowed to have up to 500 members. You can have a max of 5 guilds, totalling 2499 possible players who will sell items to you.
That is fine and all, but the leaders of each guild will be pressed to have only active members. This system forces them to clean guilds as often as possible.
Having 5 guilds means you won't feel like being "at home". You will never get to learn most of the "guildies".
Going afk for a few days will probably have you kicked out of the guild(s), forcing you to find up to 5 new guilds and explain to 5 guild masters WHY they should accept you instead of a bunch of other guys, who are waiting in line to snatched that 500th spot.
This will lead to elitist trader guilds with players who are selling the best items between themselves, not allowing access to them to the public.
Not to mention other small things, like having to swap between 5 guilds when you're looking for the best and cheapest item. That is just annoying.

I'm not sure who decided that this system is good, or why was it implemented, because it makes no sense at all.

I totally agree with you. The auction system is bad and needs an overhaul change fast. Maybe an "unoriginal", "basic" serverwide auction house would be great.

Get a "main" guild where all your friends are playing and 4 trading guilds if that's what you wish for...

The auction house system is totally not necessary, selling using /zone is just as efficient if not more.

I do not like seeing the zone chat flooded with adverts.

This is all part of the game.

No its not, the zone is just full of spam now of people trying to sell their crap. I don't even pay any attention too it anymore...plus I'm too busy playing the game too sit and watch all that garbage scroll by. That and all the guild spammers, they are worse then the gold spammers.

I said this from the get go, the guild store was a terrible idea. We should just have zone auction houses. I cant even search with keywords in the guild stores which is ridiculous.

Can't you buy from any Guild that owns a keep in Cyrodill though?

Also serverwide auction house instantly enables cheaters to turn a profit on their gold farming ways..

Any 'justification' for it sounds like bull to me. elderscrollsonline.info/news/guild-store

The whole point of joining a guild for me has had to do with loyalty, creating a kinship. Being forced to join one in order to trade, combined with the 5-guilds angle, completely obliterates any conception I've ever held of guilding (as well as annoys me, as I like to stay solo most of the time.)
This is all part of the game.

I couldn't agree more. The simple fact that you can't search for a specific item or keyword in the guild stores is probably one of the most ridiculous things about them. I mean, how can that NOT be an option?? How did it get past beta without that?? Not only is it flawed for when you want to buy something, but if you just want to price check something to sell it, you have to go through everything to find it, if it's even listed in that store. And if its not, then you get to go through 4 more stores searching for it? Completely ridiculous.

If the Zone selling is more efficient than the Auction House then what is the point of the Auction House? That statement in itself states there is an inherent problem with the Guild Store itself.

Essentially every MMO in existence has an Auction House in some form or fashion, so I would consider it necessary for efficient and convenient selling. In addition it would also be nice to have a Trade Channel instead of the zone chat being flooded because the current Guild Store lacks any realistic functionality.
