Lockpicking not working: mouse buttons not moving pick

New problem, I was able to pick locks just fine up until last night.
Yes I have picks in bag, and mouse is working like normal up to the time the lockpick screen is up. Mouse makes the pick go in and out, but the buttons don't make the pick/key descend or drop/lock, so LMB and RMB aren't having any effect.
Super frustrating, waste of picks and time; yesterday I was in a pretty chest heavy area and one after another I wasn't able to complete the interaction and wound up watching the clock tick down and hitting the "force lock" option.

Catman14✭✭Having this problem all the time now. Never had a problem before.
Reloading the ui (/reloadui) or logging cures the problem for a while but not for long.
I have a feeling this is linked to something they did with the fix for the frozen combat moves.

Theegoliath✭✭✭This was happening to me when I played on my laptop all the time. Never had the issue when I play on my desktop gaming rig though. It might have to do with lag?0
