Why do I need to pay twice! What is this nonsense?!?!

TheStuffDanDoes
So, after spending £60 on the damn game (With 30 days of in game time! CLAIMED AS BEING FREE) I have to now pay MORE money to get my "FREE" in game time...
Who do you think you are?!!? Don't stoop down to EA's puny level! You disgust me, I demand access to my "FREE" 30 days! I will not pour more money into the game after playing for a mere few days!
By now I'm sure that you can see my undying rage at you impotent choices to drain money straight from your users pockets. Why do you do this? I like the game and I am willing to pay a small subscription fee, but not if you continue to leach money like this. You have already began your surge of micro-transactions. It's simple, don't be jerks and people will like you.. But at this rate your game will die out by the end of the year...

We deserve access to our game time that we have purchased and we shouldn't have to be forced into making subscription purchases! The game was so promising but not now, you have let us down.

You must make this right, get rid of this *** pay wall and allow us to play your game!

Goodbye, RIP ESO.
~Dan...

No, you don't have to pay MORE money but there are hundreds of threads here explaining it which you presumably chose to ignore so I'll not bother explaining it you, others have already done so if you want to learn.

You do not need to pay more, you just need to set up a subscription. If you wish, you may immediately cancel it, you will still be able to play for 30 days. Your credit card will only be charged for more if you do not cancel the sub before 30 days pass.

You don't need to pay again. You have to provide a working payment method for future subscription. They charge the money after your free 30 days expires. A pre-authorisation charge will be applied by your bank to prove the card is real and contains funds, but this isn't actually a charge - it is cleared by bank.

In order to play the game for the 30 days that is said to be free and comes with the purchase of the game.. One should not have to setup a subscription of any kind..

To verify a credit card is valid a hold of the subscription amount is placed on the card.. In a sense you are spending more money.. Even if the hold expires in a few days..

To subscribe using game time cards would require the purchase of a time card would it not??

It might be nice if the people scolding the OP about how they do not have to pay more, would instead spend a little more time thinking about what it is they are going to say when they write a post.. To demand the setup of any subscription is a requirement to pay.. We should not pay for what was advertised as being free..

There is no reason anyone should have to setup a subscription of any kind to use the free game time that comes with the game.. For a company to demand that we do is very poor business practice.. We bought the game and are entitled to the free game time as advertised.. Period...

I wish you were lazy and didn't pollute the forums with trash posts like this..

Do us all a favor and try to write something useful and helpful?? Not everyone was born forum god like you obviously were..

Which doesn't say much considering the post you just wrote.. There is nothing wrong with what the OP wrote.. Everyone is entitled to express their views and ask questions on the forums.. Even you.. You might want to remember that..

As for being ashamed?? Well.. You did write the post above.. I would be ashamed of that..

Then why did you buy the game? It's not like they kept it a secret. It's listed in the requirements section right on the zenimax store page:
    Additional Requirements

30 DAYS UNLIMITED GAME PLAY INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE OF GAME. VALID PAYMENT METHOD OR PAID GAME TIME CARD FOR SUBSCRIPTION AND PERSISTENT INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED.

Considering that OP had "valid" rage roll there - and being unable to use search option means that he/she/it did not know about search option... and now he/she/it knows about it.

I shall bless his/hers/Its future forum searches so he/she/it will gain instant information from search.

30 DAYS UNLIMITED GAME PLAY INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE OF GAME. VALID PAYMENT METHOD OR PAID GAME TIME CARD FOR SUBSCRIPTION AND PERSISTENT INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED.

First.. I didn't buy the game on the Zenimax store.. I paid $200 dollars for 2 copies of the retail Imperial Edition from GameStop..

But let's look at your quote..

30 DAYS UNLIMITED GAME PLAY INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE OF GAME.

See this is the end of the first sentence.. To me the next sentence which is separate is talking about playing the game when the free game time ends.. I could be reading it wrong.. But I don't see how one sentence is tied to the other..

VALID PAYMENT METHOD OR PAID GAME TIME CARD FOR SUBSCRIPTION AND PERSISTENT INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED.

What it should say is, "30 DAYS UNLIMITED GAME PLAY INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE OF GAME. USE OF INCLUDED 30 DAYS REQUIRES A VALID PAYMENT METHOD OR PAID GAME TIME CARD FOR SUBSCRIPTION AND PERSISTENT INTERNET CONNECTION."

As for buying the game?? My reasons are my own and there is no justification for the demand to subscribe to the game to use what is rightfully and already ours.. We bought the game.. I have paid for it.. It is my time.. I shouldn't have to give them a credit card or BUY a game time card to use my free 30 days..

The security on this site leaves a lot to be desired.. I am not going to give them a credit card.. That shouldn't prevent me from playing the game for the free 30 days..

So in your opinion, your first post was helpful and you did your duty in telling them about the forum search??

Where is that face palm pic again??

You want to bless something?? Bless the idea that you aren't all that and a bag of chips.. Not everyone is born with a keyboard strapped to their head.. I just get irritated when people condemn someone for not searching instead of just answering the question or responding to the post they wrote.. Talk about lazy?? To lazy to just respond to a post.. Go figure..

Well i suggest you aim your complains at gamestop then. They knew that you would have to set up a subscription to be able to play after early access ended, and should have informed you.

I take it reading an entire post is not one of your strong suits.. Gamestop has no part in this.. They have no control over the lack of availability over the game time cards.. They have no control over the security of this website.. They have no control over the lame policies and poor customer service being used by Zenimax and Bethesda..

I fail to see what the your issue is.. People have a right to complain about this.. They do not need to agree with your or your permission..

Your quote is poorly written and in no way explains that a paid subscription is required to use the free game time..

If they sold you the game, then they very well had a part in this.

Zenimax store clearly informs potential buyers about the requirements. You say "but i bought from gamestop!" - well then, gamestop should have informed you instead.

At this point you're going out of your way to make things difficult. You say the website is insecure, but I've seen no issues with it. There are options for paypal, prepaid cards, and you could even set up a brand new checking account somewhere with only $14.99 in it and use that. If crying that game cards are not in all stores yet makes you feel better than taking one of the many other available options then no one can help you, you're actively looking for things to be unhappy about.
