@Victus‌ Glad to see we can disagree without things getting ugly. A sure sign this forum is starting to settle in!

It sounds like we have the same wishes for more options and more content, but as we both said, seems like those are coming. I have to acknowledge the fact that it seems like TESO is designed less for multiple alts and more for keeping one or two main characters... and while it doesn't match up to how I naturally play, there's nothing wrong with that. At this stage, it's unlikely that many people are struggling with enough serious alts to suffer overlaps.

I've tried a few times to explain my gripes with the classes, and it usually doesn't come across right the first time. It's not WHAT the four classes are that bothers me... it's literally the names and descriptions attached to them. Sure, I can make a wandering orsimer berzerker if I want to, out of ANY of the classes, and that's an amazing achievement. But I've got nothing to do with dragons and I've joined no knighthoods practicing the martial arts of Akavir.. I'm not part of a temple. I'm not mystical in any way. I don't go around cutting people at night. I feel like the name and description of the class I play is up to ME. Of course, if we let everyone name their own class it would be chaos, but I think the names could've been left much more non-specific, and descriptions should've been left out entirely.

Or, better yet, no class system at all. Here are 12 class skill trees, pick 2. I realize thats a radical change, though, and I don't actually expect many people to like it. Probably impossible to avoid uber combinations.

I'm probably just feeling a little claustrophobic because the system is very inspiring to my imagination, and I have all these possible-future-character-concepts in my head that I'll probably never even have time to play anyway..

i get the feeling the OP should go back to wow...

you can have as many buttons and keybinds as you want there, if you can't manage 6 action buttons and a quickslot bar, you're playing the wrong game.

if you can't narrow down your options to your preferred abilities, as difficult as they may be, you are playing the wrong game.

if you can't explore additional options and then whine about using the same 6 abilities over and over again - without weapon swapping, or using all the tools at your disposal, or exploring build possibilities and other skill tress - then i think you're probably playing the wrong game.

ESO is a great game, but it requires a slight change in the gaming philosphy you are accustomed to, it's slower paced than your average mmo and there's seemingly a few people intent on rushing to endgame and not appreciating the journey to get there.

if you dont like system, dont be a part of it - just dont try and change it, as there's plenty of people enjoying it the way it is

@Devilfish85 Yes I can see that how each class is described seems to be a bit too specific. It works for my DK because the way I see it he is the ancestor of my Skyrim character, who is Dragonborn. For my other alts I'll make I doubt I will stick to the "strict" definitions of what each class is. My argonian Templar is a "guerilla" fighter calling upon the sun to bring the light out of the shadows, using aedric spears and his bow to strike down any oppressors. I haven't figured out a story for my Blood Mage (i.e. Nightblade w/resto staff) but he is fun to play and probably not what a typical Nightblade is pegged to be.

I think as players we can fudge some backstory around to make a character concept work. I'm just hoping that just about any combination of class/race/weapon is viable for play. I think they will tweak some things here in the coming weeks to make it so...I've heard summoner pets need some love and that Dual Wield is a little underwhelming.

Hi, all. We're happy to read your feedback about ESO- both positive and negative- but we do ask that you all keep the conversation civil and constructive. We know that not all players will agree with each other, but we ask that they all keep any debates respectful. Thank you.
