Just traveled to player in my guild after seeing Mr. Flint (his monkey) and boss was there and beat him.

So was this guild player also in Shadowfen, or in another zone?

He's not the only one mentioning this method, so I don't know, maybe the solution is somehow related to that. I still didn't have the chance to try it myself, but I will soon and bump about it.

Well, I managed to get him in the end (simply saw a notice in the chat that he was up, and ran over there)

I made it after few /camp

If only the monkey is there, its bugged so you either /camp or move out.

I saw the Captain and his summons sprint off across the river towards the nearest Wayshrine after one of our players resurrected there

Wonder if it's related to the bugged respawn

Just managed to beat Captain Bones. I ran there while some other players were already fighting him and I joined them. Can't say if the respawn is still bugged, though.

He's been respawning for me the numerous times I've tried and failed to kill him. Everything is fine until his crew spawns. Then I'm dead in a second or two. Even tried waiting for a second player to appear.

This is quite the thread necro, as the last post on this was a year ago...

Anyway, I was just leveling one of my alts last night and came across this boss as someone else was fighting him - I tried to get there quickly because I could see the other player's health bar going down rapidly, but I wasn't in time and he died before I could help him out, causing the boss to reset to full health. I waited for the other player to resurrect, then attacked, and with 2 of us we took him and his crew out in short order.

So my advice is to ask for help in /zone chat. I'm sure one or more players will come to help you, and you'll have no problem. The world bosses weren't actually meant to be soloed, so there's no reason not to ask for help on them - especially ones like this where you're actually fighting more than just one boss.
