All I know is that I have Honing Stones Coming out of my Ears... not sure what this guys issue is.
Thats part of the problem. Green is not normal. White is normal. Green is an upgrade. The difference between green and blue is minimal. To me Green gear is basic gear .
White is normal ? How many toons are wearing White gear past level 10 ?SadisticSavior wrote: »Thats part of the problem. Green is not normal. White is normal. Green is an upgrade. The difference between green and blue is minimal. To me Green gear is basic gear .
People need to stop thinking of this game like WoW or EQ. In those games, anything non-normal is significantly better. Thats not true in this game...Blue really is only an incremental improvement over Green. Even that is only relevant if you have maxed out your levels...a white level 50 item will still be better than most stuff in the game.
White is normal.White is normal ?
I was wearing it into my teens. How many toons are wearing White gear past level 10?
And what is the bonus for green? (Also...traits are a separate thing...you can craft Legendary gear without traits)Blue gear is not a small little upgrade over green LOL .
Lets say a set of Blue gear of crafted gear . All tank gear . Reinforced trait and health Enchant . That's 7% more armor just from the Trait in the armor set .
Exactly...and the numbers going from white to green are not any different than from green to blue. It's completely arbitrary. Why are you picking "green" as normal? It's not. It's an improved version of normal.Gear is numbers .
Exactly. This game is not like those games. It is not as gear-centric. In this game, gear is a side dish...Skills are the main course. Gear is not an "I Win" button like it is in WoW.That's what people who played EQ2 and WoW and Rift and AoC and Vangaurd and SWTOR learn .

The main reason I wanted to improve it at all was for looks...consumables have WAY more affect on combat in my experience than improvement stats on gear do.And what is the bonus for green? Do you seriously don't get it or are you trolling ?
There is a 7% increase to the ARMOR from green to blue set with both having the same trait and would assume for every tier of armor with the Reinforcement trait . As I cant make Purple or Yellow I cant confirm that . That's just from that trait !!!! In just that 7 pieces of gear !!!!! That would be a 14 % armor upgrade from white to blue .
If you are wearing white gear that's your choice ! Its isn't normal tho .
With 4 of the crafting classes making just gear and gear upgrades . 99% all the quest Ive done rewarding gold and or gear not vanity items I would say this game is very gear - centric .
I personaly didn't care for WoW . I tried it , leveled to max and left . It however is the best selling game of ALL TIME . Then people talk about it like its trash LOL

After leveling Enchanting to level 7 . I have found that any recipes I make or deconstruct give very very little XP . Then I find that most of the gear that I try to enchant cant be enchanted or overwrites a existing enchantment . I harvest on Aurdion and 1 out of 30 nodes I find are actual Runes so When I get to Grahtwood 1 out of 50 nodes are Runes . So I look at the Forums and start reading and find Im not the only one . ( yes I have the extended sight skill . and the worthless hireling )
So I tried Blacksmithing . Roll a new toon . Start messing around Im like heck this aint bad 10 times more harvest nodes . You know what you are gonna craft from the get go . So Im going to Craft me a set of Green plate armor . I refine 10 STACKS of Iron Ore . I get enough Green temper to do 3 pieces of armor ... 10 STACKS = 3 Pieces or Green armor ... No BLUE PURPLE or Gold tempers just Green tempers . If you average 4 pieces of Ore per node ( the average is 3 ) that's 250 harvest nodes to make 3 pieces of GREEN armor .
ESO is killing itself .

i was thinking along teh same lines during beta but i just never advanced far enough to see the payoffs clearly. As far as Blacksmithing goes I have a skill point in extraction as I posted earlier . The return of Honing stones is not high enough . From what Ive read all Gear crafting is a hobby until level 50 . Think of it this way . You make one set of Armor every 10 levels That's level 10, 20 , 30 , 40 and 50. At 4 honing stones ( leaving the improvement skill out because I left out making weapons ) ) per piece that's 140 Honing stones . As you know , you can make better sets of armor than every 10 levels . Also been neglecting the Trait items like diamond for example , I think maybe I have gotten 15 of those so when I run out Im gonna have to buy them from somebody . That's 35 of them with the same example . If a blacksmith isn't getting enough material to keep a toon geared or enough to sell and make a profit to justify all those deconstructs the craft is lacking .
LOL, I was about to ask you the same thing.Do you seriously don't get it or are you trolling ?
It is normal in the game dude. If you mean what is average for player characters to be wearing at that level, it's blues, not greens. No one is wearing greens at level 50. Either way you're wrong. If you are wearing white gear that's your choice ! Its isn't normal tho .
McDonalds sells way more food than 5 star restaurants...which do you think serves better food? Your "Argumentum ad populum" argument is therefore retrded.I personaly didn't care for WoW . I tried it , leveled to max and left . It however is the best selling game of ALL TIME . Then people talk about it like its trash

This isn't WoW. It's not a gear-based game, it's a skills based game.McDonalds sells way more food than 5 star restaurants...which do you think serves better food? "Trash" is subjective, but there is clearly a market for games that don't follow the WoW model. And all the criticisms of WoW in this thread are accurate. Why are they not entitled to an opinion?

It is better to trade with a fellow crafter of the same profession, with you each trading items back and forth. For example: As a low level smith, find another low level smith and trade level 6 iron daggers with each other. You craft 5, he crafts 5, you trade and deconstruct the other's daggers. Reason why, it is worth 3 times the inspiration points, you literally receive 1/3rd the IP from deconstructing items you created.
It's even less than that. I tested this with another player: we both crafted 2 chestplates, and exchanged one of them. So i had two otherwise identical chestplates in my inventory, one crafted by me, one by the other player. Deconstructing his gave me 100% crafting xp, deconstricting mine gave me ~10%.
Holt crap, I had no idea that something this stupid is implemented in the game. And there I am wobdering why is my crafting leveling so slow. I deconstructed tons of self made stuff and I still have clothing lvl 10...
Seriously this should be fixed. This is unacceptable punisment towards more solo players!

All you are saying is your OPINION !!!!
No NUMBERS !!!!!!
WoW is the McDonalds of MMOs. If that was all that people wanted, games like this would not exist. Eve has been going forever and does not follow the WoW model at all.You are the only one that mentioned WoW that I have seen and I called you out on it . If there is some market for non WoW like games name one that's had like 13 MILLON subs .
Which might very well be true. That, or maybe she made poor choices in her skills. It's not proof that it was her gear.I will make sure I tell the healer I grouped with today that the reason she couldn't keep the 600 point health tank alive in Elden Hollow wasn't that his gear sucked it was because she sucked .
It's not. I have seen that personally with my own character. Gear makes a difference but is not central...skills matter a lot more.Because you said it wasn't a gear - centric game
Will I look better if I use a couple dozen more exclamation points? Please don't post again you are making yourself look bad
