Would Like to See Food & Drinks Buffs Stacking

I think this would increase the importance of provisioning in line with the other crafts. I don't think it would be anywhere overpowered as you would just have stat bonuses and regain bonuses.

I was almost certain that the single buffs stack from food. I may be wrong on this, but I always use a health food, and then a magicka food when I'm leveling.

Hmmmmm I might have been wasting them.

I'd like to see them stack as well. It was really disappointing to see that they didn't because I'll probably never use drinks over food.

They don't stack, that was one of the first things I tried when I first starting cooking.

I was used to them stacking too. I tried using my battaglirs and my ales, and they don't do it. The last thing consumed is what is your buff.

Would like a food/drink combo also.

It does indeed seem quite silly that you can only have either a drink or a food. You should be able to have one of each, that's just common sense.

Then you haven't seen blue and purple recipes. Letting them stack would require the buffs be nerfed for the sake of balance. Currently the buffs are very strong BECAUSE you can only have one.
    Some questions answer themselves:
So what is the problem with building specifically against an oil farm????

    oil farm????

the current system is leaving so many items in my inventory because I never use them one food or drink buff and it lasts for 35 mins. this system is lacking in that there are soo many items laying around and YOU CANNOt USE THEM fast enough. its kinda dumb that there are all these recipes for stuff and only get one buff at a time from them ??? whats the point really I wonder

The blue ones give multiple stats, wouldn't expect to have food stack with food for example. May be nice to have food and drinks stack with each other, or do the purple ones do this already?

Edit: they are strong though, I'm not really complaining, at least for the food, haven't gotten my head around the value of the drinks.

Indeed. Stacking food with another is nonsense. Especialy when there are high lbl food which give multi stats.
You usualy make a choise what to eat. More of a single stat like HP,MP,ST or all but less.
But the fact that food doesnt stack with drink is wierd -.-

I use Health food and health food only. I craft Stam and Mag food and every drink I can for selling to a vendor or dropping in a guild bank/store.

With the Connoisseur and Gormand perks I get 4 food/drink every time I make something. Those sell for 200-500 per stack to a vendor depending on what tier I am cooking. I've literally made thousands of gold this way and kept my bank clean in the process.

    hmm, im not so sure
its a choice to be made depending on the difficulty at the time imo
to have both at once would just make it a trivial chore to do once every half an hour

I couldn't agree more. if I could agree 10000 times I would. I actually thought thats how it worked at first. It pretty much makes drinks useless.

I think back in beta it was possible to stack food and drink, I cant remember if this was actually true or just my impression, it was back in January. But yeah I would really like to see food and drink both active at the same time because right now it doesnt make sense to have the separate category for them with different bonuses only to be able to activate one.

I think stacking food and drink is something that I would love to see implemented in the game and I don't think it will be overpowered. So yes please consider this Zenimax.

I have been drinking and then eating for the buffs. I did not know if the buffs worked together as I could not see anything except the Magicka, Health, or Stamina status bar increase.

So with the lack of increased regen there is no need for drinks nor the drink recipes. My Provisioner can only make the single attribute green recipes for the most part and now I will just vendor trash all drinks as useless.

Pathetic, but at least knowing, I have now learned another avenue of gold for trash.

ya I thought it stacked too - at least 1 food and 1 drink. I didn't realize I was wasting them until I got an addon to display the buffs. Would be nice, though I understand the mechanic in choosing higher regen vs higher max. I always go with regen unless it's overcharged.

I wonder why they changed one of the recipes to count as a drink instead of food in the PTS patch notes. What difference would that make since they can't stack?

Edit: The skill perks affect them differently, so nevermind.

Food = + Max health, mana or stamina (larger mana\stamina pool also effect damage)
Drink = + Regen rate of health, mana or stamina

    Blue = 2 stats, Purple = All 3 stats

    So
Purple Food = + to Max health, mana and stamina
Purple Drink = + to Regen rate of health, mana and stamina

Since its easy with gear to get to the 'cap's with regen rates. I think food is much better as its hard to get to the cap for max health, mana and stamina.

The purple food V5 I make sells well, but the purple drink V5 do not.
Anyone else no longer bothering with making drink? I think I will remove my skill points used in 'boosting' drinks.

We'll see what they do I guess. I'd be really surprised if drinks are being used much. Increases in magicka/stamina pools also increase ability damage don't they? If you are using a resto staff, the heavy hit is a % of max magicka I think too. Maybe if the drinks also included spell / weapon damage or something. Oh well.

Whenever I do a big farm of ingredients I pretty much make as much blue hp/st and hp/magicka food as I can. I then create a ton of drinks and lower level foods and vendor them at 4g each. Apart from when I had a purple level 20 recipe food I have almost never sold anything from /zone or guild store that wasn't a blue combo. Best I have done is 1.5x/2x vendor price to guild people.

Had one purple recipe drop in the very first home i visited in Greenshade. Do not recall what it does (need to check) but it was just luck i guess.

You can very easily cap regen for health, magicka and stamina with no enchantments very quickly (for your character level). That is why i go for amount vs regen, but generally speaking i agree with you (regen is better than amount), but the soft caps are very easy to hit for those.

Yes they need to make it were you can have 1 food and 1 drink buff at the same time.
  • Valthorian1914
If they add it in, it should be a buff that comes from putting points into the skill tree of provisioning itself. Making the skill line more full of luster.

Insatiable: The hunger growing in you allows you to have active effects from both Food and Drink simultaneously.

All purple recipes I have received have been from instanced dungeon bosses.
The V5 purples I got came from the boss Razor Master , in V4 City of Ash

I thought that's how it was until I noticed it overwrite and was like... whaaat? As it is, food is WAY more desirable than x x x over time.
