FPS Stutter since last patch

Hello, I'd say I have a fairly strong PC that ran Skyrim at a constant 60+ FPS. With this game however, I am getting average FPS in cities from 30-35 frames. Not sure what everyone else is getting but I am pretty sure I should be getting a bit more. However, that is not my main concern. With this recent patch the game has been micro stuttering much more often. Not sure if other people are also experiencing this, but its really frustrating to play with.

So far I have: Removed ESOhead addon, made registry changes to disable parked cores, OC'd my CPU which made no improvements.

Attached is a DXDiag.

Also to note. Some benchmarks, as you can see, the 760 averages at ultra 61FPS at my resolution.

Yes micro stutter, freezing for 2-5 sec. depends what area i am in, some places there is stutter/freezeing every 2-5 minutes. Imagine fighting some mobs and after the freeze is over, you are dead. can not play after patch either. waiting for my ticket. Support told to run Game Consultant:

Click on the golden cog icon in the top right corner of the game launcher.
Under SETTINGS - LAUNCHER, select the ABOUT tab. This tab includes the current launcher version, minimum specifications, and information about Game Consultant.

Looks like some pings at IP;s dont reach the destination.

Yeah It issue didn't solve when updating drivers which are supposed to improve FPS by 25% for my specific GPU. No good. The freezing actually crashed my game earlier today which never happened.

FPS goes from 80-15 if I turn to quickly.

In addition it feels like my commands in game are slow to register, but my latency is fine.

Having the same problems for the last week. Removed the only two addons I used (esohead and markers), installed latest drivers, same thing. Constant "snappy" lag of a second or so, and every single public dungeon is unplayable due to more extreme lag that causes your character to simply not respond to any attack commands other than block for 20 seconds at a time. Outside is absolutely fine, aside from the minor snappy lag when advancing quests, entering combat, or changing zones, and the stuttery framerate.

It seems that megaserver was not ready for production. It would be nice to see someone at least acknowledge this, as biting the bullet would do more to maintain customer confidence than turning a blind eye. As it is I haven't heard anything back on my support ticket on these issues for several days.

*Prepares to be trolled in game by devs and fanbois for having the audacity to point out what every paying customer has experienced.

I'd like some insight from the individuals moderating this forum? It is why I posted on the forums, and the FPS hasnt seemed to correct itself no matter what I do to try and remedy the situation.

I am experiencing the same problem. Small freezes (stutters) when a quest updates. Very easy to notice when scrolling through quests in quest log, .5 - 1 second freezes, only happen since last patch.
Tried at LOWEST settings with no Addons, and the problem still occurs.
Have latest nvidia drivers for my 660GTX

game runs fine for me. But i noticed a memory leak since patch, the longer you play the more ram your system is using for your game. Eventually it will cause a crash or severe lagspikes for players without heavy systems.

Another issue to add is the loading screen are freezing, requiring a restart. Happened one 5 different occasions today.

Indeed this problem seems to have intensified since the last patch. I've been playing since beta and hadn't had any stutter until last patch. My boyfriend, on the other hand, was having issues with it all the time, but we blamed it on his having a bit of an old PC. However, when my 3.5GHz i7 started jumping from the usual 15-20% usage to 100% during lock-ups (which most notably happen when I use my Nightblade's Ambush, enter a heavily-phased city, and nowadays nearly every time a voice clip or a quest update has to load) I started believing it wasn't the fault of hardware, but the game itself. And before you ask, my HDDs are all fine, I've checked ;) I also tried suggestions posted on various forums, but none of them seems to have got rid of the problem.

I remember Zeni saying that this is a known issue back in the beta, but with the amount of annoyance this can cause (especially if it happens in combat) they should strive to fix it as soon as possible. Not that there aren't other severe bugs out there, but still, would be great to see a solution to this.
We do not hide in the shadows like the sneky Ash, or slave over a furnace all day like sweaty Iron. For we are the strongest and bravest of the three legions. Our home is the battlefield and our life is the fight. We alone know the stench of the dragon's breath. We alone have stared deep into the lifeless eyes of the Ascalonian ghosts. And we have done so with honour.

Hey, forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but there are quite a few replies in this thread already so I won't go through them all.

Have you tried (after entering the game) to alt-tab and close the launcher?

This has solved the frequent hiccups for many people.

    I see.

And you've got a 760, so it's likely that you're only running with one card.

    Is that correct?

While you guys are getting bad optimization lag, Im getting this crappy server sided hit detection BS lag; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPi8UlJVvog&feature=youtu.be&a

And nice video. I do find that happening on occasion as well. But not as awful as what I saw in the video.

Quite honestly guys, most everyone who just posted in this thread except for one or two said that this has only been an issue since last patch. I'm as quick as the next guy to let the devs know about issues like this and I have already sent a ticket, that said, I am inclined to believe that this is an issue with the patch only and not the mega server. Before the patch, this game ran smoother than butter, and actually smoother than Wow (cough) amazingly enough. So yeah patch is what did it for me too. Just sayin. Might not want to be so quick to judge the whole mega server thing.

I got that FPS lost at some areas either. Before patch, I realized that using HarvestMap and ZrMiniMap addons together, causing FPS stutter, so I removed ZrMiniMap. It worked well but I still had some FPS lost and and I dediced to remove HarvestMap too. It worked again and everything was better.

But as you guys mentioned, after yesterday's patch, now I get similar FPS lose again.

Game optimization based problems are very clear to see but also, as I experienced, even the smallest addon may cause performance issues.

ESO's original UI is very poor and if we gonna live addon related performance issues, then what will we do?

I love this game but still since days, I can't play normally because of trying to fix performance issues by myself.

Yep, this patch did nothing but further worsen issues. For me anyways. I am constantly freezing in cyrodil, stuttering like hell everywhere, and just getting awful FPS. This is a similar issue that I encountered in SWTOR, and the main reason why I left that game (among other things of course).

Oh and I am still loading into cryodil, 10 minutes in by the way. Effective patch EA *cough* I mean zenimax.

This might help, I used to have that stutter everywhere, despite high fps, until I disabled all ESOhead add-ons. After reloading the UI, smooth as silk, even in Cyrodiil.
At first I thought it was the resource mapper, but turning that off didn't do a thing, only once I had disabled the main add-on did it make a difference.
I read somewhere on these boards that ZAM related add-ons tend to cause issues but I don't remember which thread. Don't take my word for it, but worth a try.
  • jquestb16_ESO2
I have the same issue on an I7 with a GTX770 latest drivers, every 2-3 minutes game will stop for a second or two like it's dropped a packet or something it can get pretty annoying lol
  • g0kuenuaneb17_ESO
Removing ZAM and ESOHEAD addonds solves the problem for FPS drop when opening map or chaning zones (ie. leaving a town), but my FPS still drop when I receive ANY QUEST UPDATE (this is with ZERO addons installed, and everything in video tuned to minimum on a i7 3.3 GHz, 8 GB RAM and GTX 660 2GB)

Also experiencing major FPS drops randomly. Normally I run at about 50FPS, game looks amazing and totally smooth, then seemingly out of nowhere my FPS will drop to 2-5.
