Can't See Players I'm grouped with.

Couldn't see the members of my group in-game. The arrow symbol of where they were was showing but I couldn't physically see them, also they couldn't see me, in addition we both saw different players. We had to go to a main city hub to see each other then venture out from there. Whenever we use quick travel/travel to player it goes back to square one. Anyone else experience this? Is this how it's supposed to be? Also there are a few instances that I'm unable to do with a friend, like the first Fighters Guild Boss in Stonefalls, unless it's meant to be played by yourself. Other than that I'm enjoying the game!

I am having the same problem especially with Bal Foyen and Grahtwood. My playing partner will only show the arrow. There are single player instances but it would be hard to image an entire area as single.
We have tried logging off, traveling to each other, disbanding the group, etc. Nothing works.

Looks like phasing issues again. This happened in Beta.

First Q! Were you working on the same questline, or had one of you advanced past the questline and was looking to assisting the second?

Or were you in a Dungeon (not public)?

Some zones are layered depending on quest progress and choices made during a quest. In those areas your friends will go invisible.

You guys are in different phases ... If you pay attention when you're grouping with friends for a boss and you can't see your friend sometimes the boss is up on your friend's screen and still down on yours besides seeing different people.
It's as if there are channels and you can't see people from different channels.

Normally just from being in a different world instance.
Just go to party and choose travel to play to switch to the one your friends are in.

It's a little disappointing it doesn't move you to the same instance your friends are playing on when you log in but I guess with everyone having different friends lists it's easy to see why.

I've finished the quest line and I was helping out my friend. I'll try the other methods you are all suggesting. I'm not trying to power level, I just want to enjoy the game with them. Hopefully ZOS can make this more streamlined.

Yeah, you got into a phasing issue. Unfortunately, there is no indicator you're in a different phase than another group member other than the fact that you can't see them - or the mobs attacking them.

I am having the same problem, I was in a public dungeon (Crow's) and i had finished yet, I was helping a friend. In the instance of the final boss (The boyfriend of Mummy Crow) i cannot enter with my friend, I tried to travel to him, reload, relog,.. but nothing.

My question is whether this is done intentionally or it is just a bug that will be fixed. In my opinion is necessary that the players with the quest finished can play with others who have unfinished mission.

Currently it is how the game works.

In quests you need to have the same quest and be in the same stage of that quest to help someone out. Otherwise you are most likely in different phases (you seeing friendly town where your friend seeing town filled with aggro mobs)

Some quest has dungeon boss that do not allow you to enter the dungeon once you have completed the quest. Eg, Auridon when the queen goes to the dungeon in her purification quest.

Then there are real solo dungeons/quests that you can only do solo. These are main quest, fighters and mages guild quests with some minor exceptions.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that read from some future notes of development that they are planning to improve the grouping so that it will be easier to help friend or join friend. We'll have to see what they come up with and how it will work when and if something like this is done.
