Jazbay Grapes?!?!

Jazbay grapes are broken. They have 2 item ids I'm sure, since I've seen them split into two different items that won't overlap. Here are 2 SS to illustrate my problem:

Here I have 3 jazbay grapes:


When crafting... Oh no, apparently Jazbay Grapes are not Jazbay Grapes!


Yeah so... Either change the name of it or make jazbay grapes jazbay grapes.

Have you tried dragging and dropping one stack on top of the other? I seem to remember that working for me in those halcyon days when I wasn't locked out of the game ^_^

Look at it, clearly it says JAZBAY GRAPES. And yet it says I have 0 available for crafting even though I have 3.

Is your character the right age to be mixing Jazbay Juice? Maybe there's an age limit ^.^ I'm kidding. In all seriousness, this does look like some sort of a glitch. Was just trying to help. No need to get defensive :P

I have 3 of the working Jazbay grapes and 8 of the non-working Jazbay grapes. They do not stack with each other. The only way I have to tell them apart is once you have them in a shop window, the working ones sell for 0. The tooltip says they both sell for 1, so the tooltip can't be used to tell them apart.

Could we please have all the Jazbay grapes become the same item?

I reported this as well a while back. Both kinds are used, but for different parts of recipes - the 0g value kind is supplemental for making blue/purple recipes, while the 1g value kind is a base ingredient for veteran level recipes. No idea why they decided to use two items with the same name, hopefully someone goes in to change the lower level one to something else (changing the higher level one would be more work renaming all those recipes/drink items).

I Think i read somewhere that those grapes are used for 2 different recipe's one at a lower level and one at the higher.

they really need to change the name of one of them to reflect what recipe they are used for.

Interestingly enough, I think I've figured out this bug during my research with Provisioning.

First off, an explanation on the 4 types of Provisioning ingredients.
There are a total of 4 types:

1. The Primary ingredient, such as goat bits, beef, mudcrab meat, etc
2. The Secondary ingredient, such as meal, cake flour, lard, etc
3. Blue additives, for food these are Red Wheat, Onions and Salt
4. Purple additives, such as potatoes, tomatoes, pepper, etc

Interestingly enough, there are actually 2 item ID's for Jazbay grapes.
One of them is a primary ingredient, and one is for Purple additives.
(At least, my research has concluded that recipes exist that require the use of 2 Jazbay grapes)

Perhaps this really is a bug? I'm not sure yet.

rather than listing it twice? Maybe they're different items!

I've seen a similar bug in woodworking, where I have 4 wood, and a recipe that requires 3 wood cannot be constructed - the plank icon will be redded-out. However, It can be worked around by exiting the crafting station, and re-entering it.

I've had this issue too. They don't stack even if you try to put them together. I don't agree that this is a high priority bug though, that's ridiculous.

They are definitely two different items with the same name and picture.

Same problem, pretty annoying considering that inventory management is a big issue in this game.

Yeah they are two separate ingredients with the same name. Like Terminus mentioned, 1 Jazbay grape is worth 0 and an enchantment ingredient used in purple recipes and the other is worth 1 gold and a primary ingredient in level 5 recipes (Jazbay Brew, Eye-Opener, and Jazbay Cabernet). Why they named it the same name when it has 2 uses is a bit silly and annoying. Notice in the image below how the Jazbay Grapes are in two different spots.

Came here to give heads up, but you guys already explained it well thanks for the clarification about Jazbay. I hope they do better to distinguish items in the future.

Just chiming in to say I hope this is fixed soon, I thought I had all the ingredients for my purple recipe but nope I have the wrong Jazbay Grapes.

I noticed a couple of recipes at one point that seemed confused by this sort of thing as well. When you'd look at the recipe in your inventory (not in your crafting list) only half of the ingredient name would be highlighted if you had it.

Perhaps an easy fix for ZOS would be to rename one of the items "Ripe Jazbay Grapes" or some such.

I think the best fix would be to change the name of one of the items completely, to something else entirely.

I have bug reported this. You all should too. Maybe they simply dont know about it. I doubt they made it this way on purpose.

Interesting though, the common version of the grapes are in very low end recepies......so some damn alarmbells should go on somewhere in Zenimax.....hang on, the EPIC recepies we got includes a very common grape???!??!

I have been seeing people asking for this grape in chat, in bulk. If for no other reason this needs fixing, it is because people will sell the lower level one in bulk knowing it is the wrong one.

This is supposedly intentional according to the knowledge base. I really hope it's not just someone putting some BS explanation in there when they found the issue. Not differentiating is confusing and annoying to try and sort. There is no value added by doing it this way.

theres 2 diffrent items both are the same name 1 got a gold value of 0 the other a gold value of 1 thats how you know the 2 diffrent jazaby grapes, they are not worth the same

this has been mentioned in beta, but its obviouesly too complicated to change a name in a variable for this company

This has a root in lore, the high quality grapes are very rare and expensive coming from only one farm. The lower quality ones are transplants that grow in skyrim, around the rift I believe.
