Constant Crashing

What could be causing my game to crash very often? is the new patch unstable? could it be an addon that is causing the crash? it happens on many different occasions from standing still (afk), using a store, using the bank, opening doors, logging in to a character. pretty much anything you can do, even looting boxes causes the crash. i have done repair on my client already. gonna try to play without addons for a while and see if that helps.

The same thing is happening to me. I sent in a message about it, but have yet to get a response. I keep thinking that it is my crappy old computer, although I am running with a little better than the minimum requirements to play the game. It crashes whenever I use my UI, or, same as you, upon opening containers, talking to an NPC, using the bank, crafting, basically anytime I do anything other than running around. I do wish I could find out if it is my computer's fault.

This has been happening to me and to my wife as well, and we don't have old crappy computers. We're both on i7 quad core systems with 2 GB video, one Radeon and one nVidea.

We've had it happen on the character creation screen as we try to think up a name (as in we're not fiddling with any controls at that point, the cursor is just in the name field), at the login screen, and absolutely anywhere in the game, from standing still to running around, in or out of combat. We've found no commonality at all, just at any time we get kicked with the "An unknown error has occurred.". We've opened multiple tickets, and all they will tell us is to disable the ESO Survey addon and to send them a DXDIAG file. Then nothing.

We don't get completely stuck...we can generally log back in right away. But there's no telling where they will put you when you log back in. Sometimes right where you were, sometimes back in the last zone you were in, sometimes out of the world and falling, and sometimes across the zone to a way shrine you've never been to before.

When it's bad, it will happen 10 times in an hour to one of us. Usually it picks on one or the other of us, we've only been kicked out at about the same time once.

Come on Dev's give us a definite answer, is the game that bad? i didnt dc this much during the betas.

I didn't use any addons during beta, no crashes

Have been using them lately, lots of crashes.

Addons used, all with the most recent versions:

Spamfilter
Recount
Slightly Improved Attribute bars
Zam Stats
Lootlog

I deleted all of them and was fine for about 45 minutes earlier (would have been a longer test, but I did have places to be outside of Tamriel).

I was wondering if it was just my computer, so thanks, avertyn, for commenting. I have to start the game all over again when this happens, and it happens too often. It is making it very frustrating for me to play and make any progress whatsoever. My Breton Sorcerer is still only level 4 and I have been playing her since day one of early access.

So i have played with no addons yesterday, and the crash was less frequent, but it still happened to me while using the bank and also when logging in it crashed at character screen.

I removed all addon folders and saved variables (except the ZO_ingame one) could an addon change whats in ZO_ingame as well? should i delete and let the game make a new ZO_ingame file (this would mean all my controls/settings would be back to default though, i think)

EDIT: With no addons, i still crashed to desktop and got the whole you logged in from a different IP address glitch. Sigh, its not the addons people.

Does anyone know if this has been resolved, would love to start using a few addons again. However, as I have not crashed since I deleted them all, would rather know they are working properly first.

Same issue here. Just popped up for me after last night's emergency maintenance.

Same here. I had no problems before this last scheduled maintenance. Since then, I have been crashing left and right. I have tried everything, from updating, repairing, getting rid of all mods and associated files and nothing is working. The only thing I have not done is a whole new install and I really don't think that is the problem. I think it is something on their end.
