Stuck on mainline story quest for two days... God of Schemes still broken.

I just wanted to get in contact with you regarding some issues with the quest "God of Schemes" that a few players have been reporting to us.

There are a couple of issues that can affect players during this, but the most common involves the battle event not continuing as it should and freezing up. This was addressed in the last patch, but appears to be still affecting some players, so I wanted to let you know a workaround that has helped some players in case it is frozen for you still.



If the battle event is not completing and is becoming stuck, then what is working at the moment is to leave the quest zone (if possible) and do some other quests, or craft, or run a dungeon for about 2 hours so the quest resets. Playing on another character will do the same. Once it has reset you get to take part in the fight again, but also get to remake the decision that comes before the fight. If you change the decision to a different one from the one you used when the fight last bugged, it should actually progress correctly! I know this is a bit of a long winded work around, but it has indeed been working and we want to help people move on into advanced content asap

If this does not work or if the quest is actually having issues at another stage, please do get back to me directly by replying to this mail with as much information about what is happening as possible, and I will work with you to get the event up and running!

I responded thinking the ticket was closed because it said it was at the top of the email. I was kinda upset, but the GM was nice enough to over look it and re-read my case... they responded with this

I have a fix for the final stage of God of Schemes where you must speak to the survivors but they don't allow you to interract correctly, could you let me know if that is the stage you can't get past, and we can go from there?

I will keep you updated if they have found a fix or what needs to happen ($100 on GM interaction which requires a reset of the quest)

Ok... so to fix the God of Schemes a GM must be online while you are online and in the instance.

They apparently ninja fixed the actual instance so it wont do this anymore to new players, but people who are stuck will be stuck until the GM does what they need. THey need to perform a command while you are in the instance in order to unstuck the NPC. The GM also let me know they cant just advance you because it causes problems in the future.

So, it is a complex fix, but there it is.

And how do you get access to a GM? they aren't exactly falling off a tree here..

They contacted me via a ticket. Oddly it was a phone ticket, not my original ticket.

Yeah, I saw a video of somebody who managed to get a GM to appear in game and fix their quest for them. So it appears to be possible now. I've also seen GM's can now teleport players to another location - so they can clear an instance by teleporting everybody out.

I won't pretend it's easy to get GMs to help you in game, though - because you have to get through the different tiers of support before it is passed to them, and you need to be online when they're online too.

Still doesn't answer the question on how to summon a GM?

Log a support call via help.elderscrollsonline.com. Like I said - it isn't easy to get a GM.

Well now that they have a fix for this, a response should be pretty quick. But yeah, tickets are the only way from waht I know. I think a call in might actually be faster than a ticket. Make sure you list the quest you are stuck on in the title so they know to escalate it ASAP. And then be detailed with something like "NPCs are stuck, I cannot interact with them".

Like I said up top, they developed a fix for this issue specifically which requires that you be online. It is weird, I know... but that is where they are.

The GM was pretty apologetic as well, which was nice.

Just looked at the patch notes, it looks like they are applying the fix to the instance Monday.

I'm the same as blackout, Although I've re-logged multiple times and had dropping issues, resulting in my charector dying(On three occasions), The rest of the time, I drop in another location, and survive(Due to using health buffing food), But I'm unable to move and Molag Bal screaming endlessly in a loop.

I guess todays patch broke the previous fixes.

"I responded thinking the ticket was closed because it said it was at the top of the email." that is acctually a CS practice. most people dont' respond back to the emails when their issue is resolved, rather because they don't care, or they don't understand. But if you reply to an email at any time it opens the ticket up again.

...but you can log in, that's not wasting your game time. you have the option to do something else that would help your progression. Yes I do mean play cyrodil do dungeons or play another toon, you will eventually do one of these things anyway after you complete this quest. But i seriously doubt they will have this fixed by tomorrow since there is no regular maintenance, and no announcements for a hot fix

If your at level 50 I'm not sure you can progress any more. Don't u need the quest to finish to push into vet ranks I can't remember.

I hit 50 over a week ago, took a break because i was tired, an my charcter is a crafter so he suuuuuuuux. came back the next weekend and finished the last 5 quest areas in the zone, I was getting XP for vet by completing those quests. When you hit 50 you get a mail that tells you what ways you can raise your vet level. Cyrodiil, Vet dungeons (which you can use the dungeon finder) and quest in vet zones. yes this is a blocker, but not completely, you can stil at least get to vvet 10 without even going to the vet areas. Craglorn only requires you to be vet 10, but it's not linked to the vet zones progression at all

just one correction you don need to be vet 10 for crag i was there with my vet5
