Gold is tough in the early game. One of the best and most reliable sources is to do every quest possible....you always get some gold and frequently items that you could sell. Another sources is finding a treasure chest loop and run it. Get the HarvestMap addon, it will help to go back to chest and nodes over and over. Chests always have gold, usually equipment, sometimes glyphs and/or soul stones, all of which could be vendored or used to level crafts. There is also farming for raw mats or dungeon runs for loot. Depending on your abilities, if you can play above your level, loot will be better. You can farm containers, you never know if you'll land a legendary Imperial motif, but good luck with that
. This is the basics for making money, and I'd say how most of us did it. It gets easier to make money once you hit Vet level. Also don't repair armor in early going. Never buy from vendors. Either craft or use looted equipment. If you're thinking about a horse, I found the major reason for having a horse is for the extra storage space, not getting around-the exception being Cyrodil. Even at VR14, I run afoot more than on horse since I farm everything and the horse slows me down. If you have the Imperial version, the 1g horse is a no-branier to get. The Luminary Transporter addon can help you get around without a horse or spending gold without having to run to a wayshrine.
