Explorer's Pack - CE Maps take up 22 inventory spots!!!
So, on launch day I opened my email and see the four bags with maps in them. I unwittingly unpacked them all, thinking that I would then "Use" them and they would get entered into some quest log. NOPE! I now have 22 of my valuable inventory spaces taken up by these maps. The only recommendation? Create a mule to carry all of them. That is ridiculous. We should have been provided with a single bag that holds all of the maps. The original 4 bags even disappear, so you can't "repack" them. I've spent a ton of gold on inventory slots and have to deal with this cluster...Poor design, IMHO.

Saerydoth✭✭✭✭I only take the maps out one at a time as I need them. Otherwise they stay in the containers. I never have more than 4 inventory slots in use.0 -
filus✭I am pretty sure that you can't dig them out if you don't have map in your inventory... Also you can't put the "bags" with maps into bank.0

You need them when you get to the spot and the map will be used and deleted...
I made an alt character and dropped all maps there and I'll get them one by one when I need them.0 -

You know I thought this might be the case as I dug one out and the map disappeared from my inventory. Oh well, was going to delete them anyway, the rewards are not really worth the effort. I mean on one of the maps I got a pic of a couple of cliff edges next to the sea. I was on an island ffs. Maybe I'll try get support to resend them
Agree with OP though, these maps should load to a map page in our journal, not take up inventory space.0 -

Why wouldn't I open them? Again, I didn't think they would consume all of my inventory and that the bags would disappear. Also, how was I to know that the other maps wouldn't have had some tie-in to the other alliances in AvA? Saying it was stupid is overstating things a bit. You probably played the beta and are used the intricacies of this system. Not everyone can be as "special" as you.0 -
MysticAura✭✭✭If they were made quest items once in inventory it'd solve the issue. Since I don't believe quest items take actual inventory slots, and they are kinda quests. They could leave the list once you find the treasure.0

Actually it is a bad idea. As someone mentioned earlier, you need the map in your inventory to get the treasure. If the map has been deleted, no treasure.
On topic, considering making them bankable, mailable or quest items that don't take up slots would be great.

The biggest pain is that, as far as I can recall, you have to take all of them from the e-mail at once. You can't put the container into your bank to give to an alt that is going to at on a different faction, so the only way to share the map is to unpack the entire faction and sent it over.0

Thanks for the corrected advice on not deleting them. I'll have to manage with all of that wasted inventory space, apparently. I have no idea why they made vanishing bags.0
