Monday Maintenance...Couldn't Wait Until Wednesday?

Fouve
Fouve
I was looking through the patch notes and didn't find ANYTHING that absolutely needed to be done today. Why not apply the patch on Wednesday for their scheduled maintenance (Which is what it is for)?

I'm with everyone else on the time slot for today as well. It should've been done during the night hours for the regions rather than during the day when a lot of people may have taken off work today to play the game.

In Zenimax and Bethesda's credit, this has been one of the smoothest MMO launches I've been a part of. They can still improve, however.

    "UI
    General
Added an English textual warning when deleting a character reminding you that items still attached to characters on deletion will be deleted. This includes items granted through pre-ordering, Imperial Editions, and beta rewards.
Reduced the number of characters that can be entered into a chat message. This should resolve an issue where some messages were too long to properly view in the chat window."

The former will cut down on CSR tickets hopefully which is worthy ATM and the second was a serious flaw.

    No bank fix though?

What do you gain by criticizing a CSR complaint?

I don't see the chat window issue as a "serious flaw". Why couldn't it wait until Wednesday? It's not THAT big of a deal to not wait 2 more days.

I'm surprised the bank fix isn't in there as well.

Hmmmm, perhaps "embarrassing oversight" is closer to what I had meant?

They fixed a decent amount of bugged quests that blocked some peoples progression that is most likely why they are pushing the patch ASAP.
As far as the bank issues they may now have it nailed down yet to patch it I'm sure they will have more fixed and updates over the next few days for issues like that.

They probably had a large amount of stealth fixes also... which is not unusual for a game that just released.

Why is the "Banishing the Banished" quest not on this list oh my god

i did read something about bank, but that had to do with depositing.

Some of the quest fixes they are pushing, are huge. The ghratwood one for example. People are more likely to stop playing because quests are impossible to complete rather than because the maintenance time was not ideal.

Sorry for sounding sarcastic, I sometimes can't help it. Oh yeah because no-one is taking time off work on Wednesday.

I for one welcome ANY maintenance. Especially these quest bugs that are fixed with this update.

I agree Tuesdays and Wednesdays am hours are usually best for maintenance

WTF with the budget that ESO had and the servers have to be brought down nearly daily for f----king maintenance? GW2 servers only go down for an hour a day not ESO though when they go down everyone at server maintenance heads off to the nearest pub and swills beer for a few hours I guess....maybe they should have bought some better servers?

Who goes to Pubs these days. The only people I usually see in the pubs are those simple minded neanderthalic folk, that either want to fight you or talk incoherently about something trivial.

yeah that's right, however its obvious the ESO server maintenance crew hangs there otherwise maintenance would be done a lot faster. How long does it take to install a new patch and switch them back on?

So they should come into work in the middle of the night to implement a patch while you decided (as if your decision to take today off should matter to anyone but yourself) to take the day off.

Most people at this time of day are at work. If you took off to play this game. Then thats your problem not theirs.

Welcome to MMO Launches. Frequent and unannounced patches and maintenances will occur.

hmm...maybe I can redeem some of my respect for them by considering that they are not running the maintenance on Wednesday because they don't want to cause those of us who are expecting our physical edition on the 9th any further grief from lack of play time.
This is all part of the game.
