the good news is that your 30 days is not being wasted as it does not start until you meet the requirement.
Exactly, I mean he clicked accept on this...That is why I made the comment about reading before you buy/agree to something. This includes where/how you will pay for the game.

You keep tossing that quote around, but haven't read it apparently, because it doesn't mention having to pay anything in advance, any kind of pre-authorization, or actually SIGNING UP for anything. Selecting a preference is essentially meaningless, it's so vague.
I really don't understand why people are gathering the pitchforks over pre-authorization. It's a charge that is quickly dropped. And, if you don't have 15$ for a pre-auth, maybe you shouldn't be playing a subscription MMO, or any game for that matter.

So all in all we didn't get 30 days free. We called after seeing that the charges were not pending at any time. Our bank shows pending charges no matter which side it is..their bank or ours.

rofl @ forum account-support attempts.
I'm all for consumer rights, but consumers have to go through the normal channels of support first.

This is not a slam at anyone.
FYI - to the folks talking about money grab, a pre-authorization check is not money in the pocket of zeno. It is a TEMPORARY charge done by the credit system as a means to stop fraud. Regardless of a penny or 100.00. I would suggest those of you upset by this, actually take this as an opportunity to learn how credit and debit cards actually work. It is not a new system.

And not to slam you. But we called our bank and we did indeed check these things out. Once more our bank shows pending charges from both sides. So, Zenimax asks for 14.99 and then takes the charges off..there would be a pending status. No work arounds, nothing hidden.
The money has been charged and Zenimax has that money. And I should hope I understand credit cards and debit cards, since I used them almost all my life and I will be 50 in December. And I should also hope our bank also understands them. Which I firmly believe in my bank because they have never been shady about anything.
Edited because of typo.
thegamekittenub17_ESO wrote: »-sigh- There is no hold on the funds. The money was charged and paid. I am actually getting documents from our bank to support this, in black and white that these charges are not being held, they are not being pending, they have indeed been paid in full to one company named Zenimax.
And just to say? I wanted this game to succeed. I love the game in itself and it is beautiful. So this isn't a hate thing, this is a disappointed and tired of the run around and lies by this company thing.

1) You are trying to circumvent a quality games first check of the Terms of Service. (Go back to F2P)

With ZS' system in place, I think it would not be farfetched that when a CC expires you won't be able to play till you set a new payment method up.
