Am I the only one that wishes Vampires had the "Vampire Lord" form from Skyrim?

Dont get me wrong, Bat Swarm is nice, its just a little underwhelming. Werewolves get to transform into a savage beast and vampires get.... bats.... It would also make sense lore-wise, you share the same blood of the very first victim of Molag-Bal, the same blood in the Volkihar clan. Being a vampire doesnt give me the same sense of "power" as it did in Skyrim To quote Harkon "To walk as a lion among men" feel is gone and I dont feel like a "Scion" Maybe as an add-on or something? If I remember correctly, Harkon existed since before the Empire was even formed. Maybe the add-on could revolve around forming the clan and revealing the true power in their blood.

EDIT: Just realized this is in the wrong spot. Oops

While it was interesting, it was a drastic change to the play style... I don't miss it one bit. I was happy to be done with that quest line and haven't transformed since.

Werewolves are the in-your-face beasts. Vampires are (supposedly) the more subtle killers. Having played Morrowind and up, that DLC for Skyrim stuck out like a sore thumb to me.

Also, looking at the skills I am thinking the exact opposite. The vampire skills in ESO seem like they can be worked into existing builds, such as the necromantic nightblades popping up. While being a werewolf might be "cool", I doubt I'll pursue it.

Yes! I hope they put some much needed luv into both werewolf and vampire. I would like to see other forms later on.

I'm with Xithian on this one. I wasn't crazy about the model for the vampire transform, the abilities were kind of meh, and the whole point of being a vampire (that kind of hiding in plain sight predator) vibe was lost with uber bat form.

Anyone remember the good ol days of Oblivion. Feeding was never an issue in that game, Preferred not to. No transformations just crazy stat booths! Like being able to jump your Markarth Balcony from stand still on the ground!

From looking at the downsides to vamp infection, it didn't look like such a great thing to be infected unless you were a nightblade. Bout the only thing I can think of that the vamp changes would benefit.

To have the VL in this game , would be very nice , maybe at a later time , in an expansion pack or something.
At the moment, i would really hope for one thing to be changed and that is the range of Drain Essence. 7 Meters is way to little if i want to play ranged and be a vampire as well , unless they find a way to get in close to me. I would hope that maybe in a future patch , they can modify one of the passives that vampires get so when you spec into it , the range of the skill also increases. Also , maybe have the ability to feed and also drain the target , since the skills have slightly different roles ? In that the feed does not give the morph bonuses that you choose :)

I would love to see a Vampire Lord transformation but if it were implemented it should be reserved for only the Highest ranking vampires (in the Vamp tree) and should be Veteran lvl 5+ or more. My point is, that if it will be in an MMO were other vampires will around you (Vampire Lords everywhere) it should be VERY difficult, maybe even add a ridiculous VET only quest as well, with maybe four parts(very long).

Make it worth having but seem impossible for a lvl 5 character.

The same can be for WW to maybe develop into Alpha Werewolfs were you can transform into a WW at will.

I dunno fun ideas that I wish could come true.

I say swap WW and Vampire talents. Let Vampires turn into Lords... only go get a couple of semi-useless, bugged skills, lose the ability to break out of CC, etc, etc.

I'd pay to see the outrage that would erupt on the forums.

Going to bump this back up there since the console release (: .. I'm currently fighting for this now. I would LOVE and miss it... Now don't get it wrong, it doesn't have to be Vampire Lord... to make things seem OP.. it could be something simple.

Lore wise it made sense in Skyrim to have vamp. Lords. Not so in ESO. For one thing, vamp.lords was a specific family or strain of the vamp.disease. AFAIK the ESO vamp. Strain is different.
Second this is an MMO, having thousands of vamp.lords running around - even endgame - is immersion killing. Skyrim was singleplayer, you were that very special dude.

But hey, were bears and were bunnies ftw!
  • Talongar

Yeah I do understand that fully, but where I get at with this is that it doen't have to be a Lord... it could be of some other type of transformation that doesnt make you OP as people would believe or so.

I understand that it made perfect sense in Skyrim being a single player but we would hope the same for eso minus the OP ness and "specialness"... If i make sense in this....

I feel the same. The vampire is SOOO weak in this game. It is more of a disadvatage than an advantage by far. You get no boosts at all and you have to feel constantly or you get one shoted. They really REALLY need to boost the vamp.

I think having the VL transformation would work well for an Ultimate skill on the vampire tree. Giving a bit of a temporary passive boost to your character..

Dunmer Vamps should read them to know the feeling of being powerful and ignored (even from your own fellow vamps)

It would be cool to have again, but I think it would be very difficult to impliment. It would require that the transformation be the same as werewolf, which would remove bat swarm, which is pretty much the only reason to be a vampire right now. They could make a whole line of skills for a transformed vampire, just like with werewolf, and include a dulled version of bat swarm. However, I think it would create more drama than not at first, but would be good after 1 or 2 patches. Unfortunately this game probably couldn't survive an upheaval like that as it currently stands.

Different Clan.....Different abilities and the VL transformation of the Volkihar is not among them, besides 2 many Vampire Lords walking around would make being a Vampire Lord no longer special or unique in anyway.

How can you find bats underwhelming? That spell is a life saver. I considered becoming a Vamp just for that spell. Yes, we get to transform into a beast, but that's it. Our Werewolf spells are locked to Werewolf form, the form itself doesn't last very long, it takes A LOT of ultimate to build up enough to change, we are required to have the transformation ultimate on both bars in order to receive the stamina passive. Is this what you want? Because if Vampire Lord existed, it would only be fair to make it work the same way otherwise we'd lose even more Werewolves to the anaemic looking blood fiends. Hell, I'd probably swap. They can't even get my Berserker to look like an actual berserker. For the ultimate cost I would expect that much.

tl;dr: No. I would not like to see Vampire Lord in ESO
