When I bought the Digital Imperial Edition of the Elder Scrolls Online, it was my understanding that it included 30 days of game play upon the launch date for PC April 4, 2014. I understand that to continue to play after this 30 days, a subscription fee would apply. What I don't understand is why I need to commit to a subscription to play this included 30 days of game time. If all we need to do is activate the included 30 days, why is there not a button on my account page for me to click on to activate my 30 days of game play without forcing me to purchase a subscription plan?

I wonder that as well, forcing people to set up a plan now is ridiculous, what about the people who use game cards?
    They can't even play now.

Same, i just want to play my 30 free days, i dont have intention of keep playing after 30 days... game is expensive already 60 dlls...

They could sell extra content every 6 months or vip stuff, but forced suscription for an already payed game, just ridicules, now im pissed

Oh yes, one more thing... Lag, server updates, crashes... time lost, no compensation

For the record this is a fairly standard item for subscription MMO's. It basically forces you to provide a valid ID when activating the account even if you never actually bill time on that card.

They didn't force you to buy a sub, they just wanted you to set one up to verify who you were. You can cancel at anytime and still play out your 30 free days. This has been a practice for all games that gave 30 days with box purchase and a sub afterwards. Also, game cards work for this if you need to use them.
