I know this thread won't be popular because so many people are angry and they don't want to hear this, but I think it needs to be said. Yes, I'm disappointed that I tried to log in this morning to play and I'm in a queue to access my account information on the game website (I've never seen that before). My disappointment comes from the fact that I participated in beta and paid extra for early access to the game. Right now, I kinda feel like the honeymoon ended with my wife walking off with some other dude. Maybe next time offer early access people the chance to set up an account early? If this was offered, I didn't see notice of it. Anyway, people just need to take it easy. Think about this...

I know you're angry because you paid money for something and you feel you have a right to access it when you want. I understand that, and I feel the same way. The petulant child in me wants to throw a tantrum. But I'm not a child. The people that designed, developed, tested, marketed, and managed this project didn't conspire to fleece us out of our hard-earned money. Each and every one of them likely takes pride in what they do, works hard every day, and hoped that this game would release as flawlessly as possible with (ideally) every customer satisfied. I think every person involved would admit that things could have been done better throughout the process, but isn't that the case with every game? Every activity we participate in? We're imperfect humans, after all.

Let's just be thankful that there aren't forums on the internet dedicated to our work performance that are frequented by thousands upon thousands. I'd probably have difficulty keeping my sanity. When something goes wrong, instead of lashing out, try to be constructive and at least give these guys the chance to make something right. They deserve at least that.

Oh, and before you dismiss me as just another "fanboi" or apologist, I should mention that I've never played Elder Scrolls. I signed up for beta because the game looked cool and I've participated in a lot of betas. I purchased early access because some of my buddies are big fans of the game, and I wanted to be able to play with them.

Very well said. And many of us, myself included, could have prevented this; we could have just set up our accounts earlier. A little pragmatism goes along way...

Things have changed over the course of many years. A lot of people seemed to have seen the 30 days a free access and assumed that they could play the game as though it was a F2P game.

Am I frustrated? Yes. Do I understand all of this? Yes. I've been playing MMOs since 97 when I got into EQ1. I did have to pay $60 for the retail game and I did have to pay $15 per month to play. Same thing with EQ2, WoW, SWTOR (initial launch). That doesn't bother me. I would MUCH rather this be a SUB game than a P2W game.

Most of this week I've seen the option to setup SUB onscreen, providing you purchased a online edition direct from the store. My frustration is that GAMESTOP took my money for the physical edition, but I can't put in billing info to ZOS.

I don't fault ZOS for wanting their money. That is why they made the game. A lot of people purchased physical editions, so they can't yet input game codes. Now that may not be universally true, but in my case (and I'm sure a lot of others), it does hold true.

I'm satisfied with the game I've played thus far. I won't ragequit like a lot of people are threatening to do. I will, however, sit back & read forum posts for the next couple of hours until I can get to the store and HOPEFULLY pickup my physical copy to redeem that code & log into the game.

If only some of us could. I never have (and do not now) have an option to set buy a subscription. I will only get that option after I redeem the code, which is in my box, which is at a locked UPS distribution center on a Sunday.

Only after putting in that code will I get the option to set up a subscription.

That's my only annoyance right now. The fact that ZOS killed the access on a Sunday.
Physical box buyers all over the forums and reddit are lamenting how they've basically been screwed for no logical reason.

I tried several times calling GameStop asking them to just email me my official game code like they did with my Early Access code. They said they couldn't. And I called UPS to pick up the box (it's 4.1 miles from me), but it's closed.

I never received my Explorer Pack items (as that code is, again, in the box). So I've done four zones without the maps that come with the game.
How exactly has this been fair to the portion of the playerbase who paid for CE editions?
$120 and this is how ZOS handles it?
I think a few of us have more than a right to be a little ticked off.

Agreed, I even forgot about the treasure maps and I cleared the first zone. At the mercy of the postal service because ZOS had poor planning.
