Getting attacked by mobs that aren't visible

I've leveled a few chars to around 10. The first one, no issues. The second one, a few times my char got attacked by mobs I couldn't see. The third one is getting attacked by unseen mobs left and right. I log out and log back in and everything's okay again for maybe thirty seconds.

I hadn't changed any of my video settings since the first char, where all settings were on and high/ultra. Just in case, I turned the settings way down - nothing over medium and everything set to off. But still getting attacked by mobs that aren't visible.

Anyone else having issues where mobs are attacking that aren't visible?

Forgot to mention that I also tried disabling all add-ons and logged back in. Same problem still.

Well with the more people logging on because of the official launch. There might be too many things loading in the background in the game so you may have to wait a few minutes until everything loads completely so that you can see all of the mobs in the area.

Trying to be helpful as much as I can. ^-^

That sounds like network lag. Changing video options wouldn't affect it (network lag isn't the same as framerate lag).

It could be caused by extra server stress due to the influx of new players, or it could be entirely on your end. You might wish to speed test your connection and post the results. Ping, download speed, and upload speed would be helpful to know.

I also had this issue the other night. Hopefully my solution works for you as well.

I also tried logging out then back in to clear the problem, but the enemies continued to utilize Chameleon100 items of some sort; however, when I completely closed out of the game client and re-entered the problem had cleared. I usually close the launcher once the game is running, so close that too if you don't either skip the launcher or close it when the actual game launches.

I don't know if it was some bug that entering that particular instance (the mine near the Cathedral in Glemumbra) triggered, if I'd just been playing long enough to confuse it, or what; but closing the game entirely and re-entering from scratch seemed work...

Thank you! When I had made the above post, I had quit the game and closed the client completely. I was at a starter island at the time. Logging back in again now, everything is fine. So you may be on to something as far as a workaround goes. Thanks again.
