It is frustrating when using an NPC such as a banker and having them say an entire paragraph of the exact same monologue over and over again every time you access them. Once they've said it once, they should just greet you and not act like a crazy ranting person. Example is Angier Stower in Daggerfall. She goes on for awhile about "neither a borrower nor a lender be" over and over and over again.

Oh Lord yes! I can't stand that Daggerfall banker. I want to gag her. I actually put NPC chat in the chat window on (via the Options from that little gear at the top right of the chat window) and turned voice volume way down in Game Settings/Sound just to get rid of her. (And NPC chat in the chat window is also convenient for me because during beta I missed a lot of the echo-ey things Prophet was saying in that big cut scene with the 5 other people in it too.)
But that Daggerfall banker makes me want to roll in a different faction. The khajiit in AD only says "This one thinks you want to make a deposit, yes?" which isn't nearly as bad.
Unfortunately, I'll bet my workaround turning down the voice volume slider is about the only way we're ever going to get to shut those annoying NPCs up.
It's a great sign for a game when the best complaint someone can come up with is "generic NPCs have too few unique dialogs".

This is a non-problem, truly.
