Randomly losing werewolf

I don't know if this is a bug since update 50 or me not understanding the new mechanic so I didn't want to post this in the bug section. Before I had NO problem staying in werewolf, now it seems like I will randomly lose it mid combat. I'll be fighting, I will have ultimate, lets just say 200. Then suddently I just switch back and all my ultimate is gone. Anyone else encounted this?

The most important factor is to keep your Ultimate count up. You have to go into the settings menu to display your Ultimate number if you want a visual indicator of how close you are to losing form, as the old Werewolf timer bar now shows you how close you are to being able to use Rampage.

    So, here's a priority list:
    1. When you have Rampage ready (your Werewolf bar is full and the icon for your Ultimate changes) use it. It gives you 20 seconds of zero timer drain, as well as other useful self buffs.
    2. When there is a corpse nearby, use Insatiable Hunger on it. This restores up to 75 Ultimate to you.
    3. Always be light attack weaving, as this will ensure you are passively generating Ultimate.
Other helpful things you can do include using Pack Leader (or grouping with other werewolves) to further reduce the cost of remaining transformed, or using Item Sets or passives which reduce the cost of Ultimate abilities or generate Ultimate.

It's going to be much harder to sustain Werewolf this patch if you don't prioritize keeping your Ultimate up.

Like I said, I'm dropping werewolf when I do have ultimate, and that ultimate number instantly drops to 0 when I switch. I thought it was just me accidentally hitting the button at first but if that was the case I would still have ultimate. I also mainly play as pack leader as a tank.

When the werewolf timer ticks, it chunks a full 100 ult at a time (can be reduced with passives). That means if you're at 200 ult, you're not going to be staying in form that long since every 10 seconds, it'll tick down 100 ultimate. If you don't have ult numbers on, it can come as a nasty surprise.

The small bar under the mag bar where the timer used to be is no longer a werewolf timer. It's the bar to measure your Fury, and will allow you to Rampage when at full.

Its kind of a weird mix where outside of combat you're not losing ult so you can maintain the transformation seemingly forever, but then in combat you're goin berserk, then... poof lol. Will just take some getting used to. But in pvp at least, its hard to keep that ult up and also play defensively when you need to. It isnt good enough to me to justify such a sharp decrease in ult, not in pvp anyway. These changes feel much more tuned for PvE, and probably is of course.
Zos then: Vengeance is just a test bro

Zos now: Do you want Vengeance permanent or permanent...

Even in PvE WW can be hard to maintain, Berserker at least. If you don't have the ability to use Insatiable Hunger fairly regularly you're likely going to burn through your Ult before you can hit Rampage unless you go into each battle with like 300 Ult.

The base ult gain (from light attacking, blocking, healing) is a buff that gives 3/second. Does that mean to stay in werewoof form indefinitely in combat, you'd need to make 70 ult/second (other than the Rampage buff). Is there any proven or optimized way to meet this to still do damage in PvE and PvP?

Why oh why can we not just have werewolf for as long as we want, we do we always have to have some sort of stupid timer. I love everything else they've done but this sucks. I had no issues before ever losing WW mid-fight, now I can be on a boss and poof back to my human form, it's ridiculously bad to the point that I hardly want to play werewolf any longer.

In fact, if you just hit the dummy with light attacks, you'll turn back into human form way before you finish the dummy. The only way to kill it is to get your DPS over 100K so that it dies before you run out of ultimate. It burns 10 ultimate per second; there is no way to recover that. As it stands now, the new werewolf, whilst great fun, is totally unusable on large targets where there are no other werewolves present and nothing to eat, assuming you wish to stay in Berserker form.

Before Update 50, you could sustain your timer by doing nothing but light attacking a target to constantly proc Blood Rage on cooldown. In Update 50, we don't generate enough Ultimate from light attacks to do the same thing — instead, we're expected to use Rampage on cooldown to prevent ourselves from losing form. This means we need to light attack weave to generate Ultimate (from the light attack) and to generate Fury (from the Werewolf skill cast) so that we can sustain form when solo.

I could only get the dummy down when pulling 107K dps. My best was 127K but I literally lost werewolf as the dummy died, so clearly I'm using the abilities. Running a dungeon this evening for the first time I found that the reality was I lost werewolf form around 6 times during the dungeon. This is hopeless and completely unusable, what a shame.

It's not about the dps. It's about the skill rotation and light attack weaving.

I've had the same issue and everybody here saying oh you put your skills right and all this don't seem to be understanding what's going on. I'm playing on series x and I'll have it drop within 5 6 seconds of activating it I'll get two or three attacks and I drop out of it and here's the thing my ultimate bar is damn near full when I come out of it. Needing only a few attacks to have enough ultimate to go right back into werewolf form more than it will work normally.

Also try using Baron Zaudrus set.

That would help extend the time a bit, but we're losing 10 ulti per second, even with heroism, light attack weaving and Zaudrus that only gives a max of 6.5/sec, so without corpses or if Rampage doesn't proc we are going to lose it in combat at some point. I can only suppose that lots of people are not using their werewolf in higer end content and have not noticed this yet. If you're just doing overland it's no big deal, if you're in a large pack of wolves it's no big deal, but if you're the only Berserker in a group you're screwed eventually you're going to drop WW, and that sucks.
