Registration code showing as standard not imperial

GlenTheOstrich
OK so I pre-ordered the imperial edition from game with the statue and everything and when I redeem the game registration code it says its the standard edition not imperial, is this what its supposed to say or has someone been in my box before me?

    This is correct.

You should have a total of three codes, printed on two separate flyers. There was a double-sided flyer with the standard key bindings on and the Standard Edition code on the back, and then a second flyer which was a single sheet of paper with two codes: one for the Imperial Edition and the other for the Explorer's Pack.

You enter the first code to confirm you've bought Elder Scrolls Online, and then enter the second code to upgrade it to Imperial Edition.

This exactly. I think they could have been a little more clear on the documentation, but the way the imperial edition works is: you first create an account using the game code (which creates a standard account), then you upgrade it to imperial with the second code.

The imperial edition isn't a separate type of account, it's just an upgraded account. This is very different from the way Blizzard did it (where the collector's edition was a different key entirely). I can see why someone would be a little confused.
