I've been able to fix my "unknown error" locally!

I had the unknown error since i started beta in january/february.
I could play for about 30 minutes and then i got the unknown error dc, after wich i was booted from the game and had to login again.

I never experienced any continious dc problems problems like this with any other online game before, and i play a lot of online games on a daily basis. (Wow, diablo, EQ, Secret World, Neverwinter online,PLanetside, LoL, Wildstar, etc etc....).

So my first tought was that it was completely their side were the problem occured.

At my home i have a cable modem with build in router from my ISP.
In the IP range of my ISP modem/router there is Pay-TV device and a VoiP phone.
Behind my modem there is a dlink router/switch wich was in his own private ip network, were my gamepc's, work pc's and mobile devices are included.

This setup never gave any problems, i never had to forward ports for any other games i play.

So yesterday i disconnected my dlink device and tried my gamepc on a direct connection to my IPS modem/router... and i had NO unknown errors anymore and i could play 2 hours in a row for the first time since february :s

So i connected my dlink again, but i have DISABLED the routing function, so now its just acting like a switch while i still can use the wireless option for my wireless devices.

I would rather like to see that this game works with my network setup just like all my other games without disabling my routing functions of my dlink, but at least im happy that i can play now without the unknow error dc.

So if any of you peeps have similar problems and a similar setup at home (router behind router), try connecting your gaming device without the second router and see if that helps.

That's a handy tip. It's great when you can get things working.
If at first you don't succeed, keep trying. And again. Eat a cookie, read a wiki, I dunno, just try to relax, the frustration will only give you a headache.

    NIce one.

I had a dlink once, never again, always had some random issue.

Has nothing to do with being a dlink device. This problem would have happened with any router in my network.

The issue has to do with having 2 ip ranges in my network setup.
It seems that this game is not able to deal with a subnet behind a different subnet.

(Most home users dont have different private ranges at home,
thats why the biggest part of the community doesnt have this problem, not because they are all on non-dlink devices ;)).

And i have only the option to disable the routing and killing the subnet on my dlink as the router that is build in in my modem is mandatory by my ISP and cant be disabled.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? o:)

Kidding aside, sounds like you should try forwarding the ESO client in your D-Link router or his IP ranges.
Now figuring out which ones are that and out how to do this on your specific D-Link is where the "real fun" lies. :p
