Sunday Lockout

miked_1_ESO
I am creating this thread to put some attention on the fact that many of us won't receive our physical copies until next week due to shipping mix ups or ZoS mix ups or whatever (a identified issue from another thread). All we got from ZoS was that Sunday 8AM was the deadline, and we kept telling them we needed a couple more days. In return they said, Sunday 8AM......come on. Really?

Extending lockout to Sunday does no one any good. What most of us in this situation need is a week. SWTOR gave a week, Tera gave a week, many MMOs give a week, sometimes more.

    1) You might want to correct the typo in the first line to read 'thread' instead of 'threat'. Some people here are extremely literal minded and don't speak fluent typo like the rest of us. B)

    2) This isn't new information. In fact, the 'extension' to Sunday is complete vapor. The cutoff has always been Sunday, and has been known for weeks now. They're acting like they're doing the players a favor, but all they're really doing is repeating what many of us already knew. Come Sunday, if we don't have the box (and many won't thanks to Amazon) ESO will lock us out.

It isnt Zenimax's fault amazon ships out the day of release.

    Thanks Valethar, fixed.

The thing is Amazon has shipped out other games pre-ordered ahead of time, its the game company that allows/releases early shipments. I spoke to several people at Amazon and they all don't know what happened in this instance.

Even so, the Sunday lockout is BS and Zeni could make their customers happy with a couple day extension.

Yes, then I suppose ZoS doesn't know delivery service is not available on Sunday. Pity.

No worries. I didn't want someone with an itchy 'report' finger to flag you. It's been known to happen LOL

I'm not sure anyone at Amazon has a clue with regards to anything ESO related. They gave me two invalid pre-order codes. I didn't even ask for a third. Fortunately I had a code from another source that worked, so I used that instead.

The problem is if they extend and you have shadys individuals who actually never bought the game, then Zenimax just got ripped off by that amount of money by extending.

Wanna bet that they extend it a day for Monday deliveries. I think they know about the problem and are trying to figure out a fix

This is ridiculous. When this was announced weeks ago, everyone of course had a problem with it. ZOS explicitly said they were looking into a solution. Now, we've waited patiently for a fix, and ZOS is telling us there won't be one.

Not everyone can afford 1-day shipping (which is what you would've needed if buying from Amazon in order to only be locked out for a day), especially when they just spent $100 on a game.

And the idea that if they extend the grace period, ZOS will be losing a bunch of money from people who are playing but don't actually intend to buy, frankly, is bull. The vast majority of people playing have already bought the game. The number of people trying to "trick" ZOS and get a couple days of free game time isn't enough to be an expense to ZOS, in terms of server upkeep. They are not losing money. They're just pissing off their playerbase (you know, the ones who have actually given them money).

They now have one day to fix this. If they don't, I guess we'll know how ZOS treats their most avid customers.
