Have you played PvP in Cyrodiil before?

If you haven't played in Cyrodiil before, I highly recommend it. Even if you don't run the meta, you'll have a good time if you run with some friends or a guild that you like. Try to find a group of likeminded people who will help you improve, and don't be afraid to try new things on your own.

And don't stress if you lose in PvP! You'll sometimes face battles where you cannot feasibly win, but sometimes you'll get a few small victories in. Winning when the odds are stacked against you is what makes PvP fun and meaningful.

I assume your question is about an actual participation in PvP rather than being in Cyrodiil for lore book hunting/fishing/dailies for tickets during events, right?

Yes, I mean playing PvP in the zone it was designed for. Cyrodiil is meant for PvP.

I have played in Cyrodiil, not a lot, but for a short time, I went with a guild to at least try... one of my characters, that I had played in PVE for a few years and turned into a bomber (to tell you the truth, not a very good bomber) got me a "3 day ban" because someone reported my name...

While I don't really want to have anything to do with PVP, I have no desire to see PvP ruined for those who enjoy it...

Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

Quite apart from anything else, this forum has seen so much negativity for years in relation to Cyrodiil - performance, balance, ball groups, tea-bagging, among other things - that it's difficult to see why anyone would want to start going there.

When I was in PVP event, I've found several mysterious spot view in Cyrodiil.
That was interesting, but, mostly quite boring. I don't hate PVP game itself,
    but no thanks ESO PVP.

I don't want to spend my resource only for ESO PVP. It's a wasting time.

If ZOS make super casual PVP mode (Fixed character and build, no custom aspect), but
professional quality level design, then I'll sped some time for it. :*

Before the Below 50 campaign became deserted it was my favourite way to level new characters.

On my main account every character is at very least a Captain, many are a lot higher.

I have never been a high skilled 1v10 type player but I did used to have a lot of fun, usually playing in Greyhost... the current "Ball Group" meta has completely killed any enjoyment I may have had and I see no reason to go there anymore!! :/

I used to have a group of friends at work and we all played Cyro. Great time, back in the Morrowind, Summerset era. As they stopped playing it became less fun but I ended up going on a break from the game 4ish years ago. I tried when I game back 8 months ago but it didn't feel the same. BGs also didn't feel the same without the 3rd team. I said screw it and started raiding. I've gone in with the guild a few times and had fun though. It's a cool place and a cool idea.

i would enjoy it more if there was a pve version of it. and no i would never want them to take away the pvp version. to each their own. but if i get a group of like-minded ppl together, we'd end up playing <insert other mmo name here>. i love eso and it's great... until you run out of things to do

I have spent a decent amount of time in Cyrodiil over the years. I'm a casual player but have enjoyed the large scale PvP for the most part. I'm not a good brawler or DPSer so I mainly play a healer build of my own design. I enjoy helping out those who can actually get kills and sometimes I manage to snipe a kill or two myself. But mostly I watch health bars, resurect, run interference as well as annoy and distract the enemy by being slippery and a little more difficult to kill.

Same. For me PvE exists only to get the gear to be competitive in PvP.

ZOS is not realizing how much business they're going to lose if they mandate vengeance. Mandated vengeance could kill ESO all together if they're not careful.

    This is a great post.

PvP is amazing because you define your own goals in the mode and you can achieve them however you want.

Assuming that everyone's ego is mature enough to handle dying in a video game it is also likely the best venue for learning about the game and about builds, deeper mechanics, etc. Which, for a certain type of player, is like catnip.

For example, after being completely annoyed by the seemingly "boring" playstyle for years, I recently decided to delve into the dark arts of blocktanking. Turns out that it is actually tons of fun as well as significantly more complex than I had ever given it credit for. Obviously, you don't kill much but staying alive against absurd odds is its own kind of reward and value for your faction.
