Robin Hobb's book series Realm of the Elderlings. The Fool/Beloved/White Prophet is a major character in the Farseer trilogy, Tawny Man trilogy (where the Golden Fool comes from) and Fitz & The Fool trilogy. Althea is a major character in the Liveships trilogy and Rain Wilds quadrilogy. All are parts of the Realm of the Elderlings saga.
