For me, participating on my alts would be for the experience and gold earned, because I'm pretty sure I'll be able to earn more gold on my alts by doing the event quests than they're currently earning by doing daily crafting writs-- and I'm starting to run out of certain materials (runestones) now that I've been doing writs on all of my alts again, which I'd started doing again strictly for having more gold for the Golden, so doing event quests rather than daily writs would give me a chance to catch up on acquiring more materials plus I'd have more gold in the bank as a result. So speaking for myself, I'd rather see the progress numbers be such that players like me who so far have participated on only one character are stimulated to chip in and work together harder to reach the common goal.

I've been doing the crafting quests in Solstice on all my toons. Some are 8 / 9 trait crafters with all of their crafting skills maxed. Some are 0 trait crafters with no points into crafting.

The boxes drop the most basic of crafting materials. Nothing beyond ruby ash wood / maplewood / rubidite ore / etc (the most basics). No runes, no platings, no turpen or other improvement materials, nothing else. Except sometimes some luminous ink and the new style trait for the new set.

I haven't tracked the gold, but I don't think it's much. The experience isn't too bad.

TL;DR - do the daily crafting writs instead. They have significantly better rewards than the Event crafting rewards.

The blue boxes DO drop the furnishing plans, and the gold style page and the fragment for the new pet. But the drop rate is pretty bad.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Amy @ZOS_Kevin The Fellowship of Stirk guaranteed drop from glorious coffers seems to be mixed up with the Siege Camp loot chest. For the last 2 days, I get the Stirk Motif chapter no problem. Except that I get it from the first Siege Camp Chest looted on the field, and not from the ensuing Glorious reward box.

Same. Stirk motif is dropping as loot in the first Siege Camp cleared for me, as well.

Hello! We have a Friday update for you all. :) We will also add a couple of these to the known issues list with their resolutions/recommendations for added visibility.
    • Some of you had reporting not finding any of the Wormwrithe Weapon Outfit pages, and not seeing any in guild traders. We've confirmed that these are Phase 2 item drops and you will not see them until then. We have updated the event article to correct that info.
    • Some players on PS4 and Xbox One have reported not seeing many mobs on screen at the Vitrified Souls quest spots, compared to players on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. This is something that you may encounter if you are running ESO on older systems including PS4, Xbox One, and lower-end PCs. The system/game are trying to load a high volume of player characters in a concentrated area, and that is resulting in slower load-in time on older systems for both player characters and monsters. Players could try using AoE abilities just to tag mobs and heal in the area to get credit, and turn on auto-loot. We recommend visiting Dark Anchors as an alternative and potentially better option for those on older systems.
    • We've also seen some questions about whether the new Writhing Wall-themed furnishing items are dropping. We've confirmed that they are dropping as expected. We also wanted to let those of you looking know that you will be able to craft those items in the future, too, so this won't be your only opportunity to obtain them.

Lastly, we want to acknowledge that we do see and are discussing your feedback about the event quest item drop rates and reward box contents.

    Thanks everyone!

Thank you. Now please act on that feedback and turn this around. I think it's fair to say that the majority of the community doesn't want to see you guys fail. This is supposed to be an amazing, over the top, once in a lifetime, where were you when..., type of event. It just hasn't been that, the opposite really. I saw a post from you guys that say this is a new thing for you guys but is it? You guys run almost constant events. This should be better then the anniversary event, as it's a once in a lifetime (your guys words) thing. Dial it in.

And of course also the reward boxes need to drop more interesting things (event items: style pages, furniture and furnishing plans, etc). Right now there's just no motivation to do more than 3 quests because only the golden boxes drop something of interest - if at all. The purple ones are completely useless and feel like a waste of time and crafting mats.

Also, I'd just forward the whole event to the last phase, so all dailies, the boss from phase 2 and the fortress from phase 3 are active at once, so people can choose what of those tasks they like to do and play them for how long it might take until East Solstice is ready for release.

No one is interested in the "competition" anyway. The timer feels arbitrary. And if it has any effect, at most it antagonizes the people of different servers and regions.

Incredibly good points. While I have come to expect these events to be repetitive, this is at a whole other level because the rewards are garbage. I'll do New Life and Anniversary dailies until the cows come home because the rewards are fun and appealing... even for a 10-year veteran player.

Have we forgotten that this is the 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EVENT? This. THIS IS IT. 10 years of an incredible, amazing, highly-appealing and fun gameplay*...... and THIS is the 10 year anniversary event. Buggy, filled with trash rewards, and yet again the community is not being listened to. "WE ARE LISTENING, SEE?!" And you just change the % values in a phony "competition." This isn't what we wanted. Take the L, admit you earned the L, and maybe just give us phase 3 so we can get the content we paid for (Eastern Solstice).

Given the effort to hype up this event I have to admit I expected something more to a just a typical dolmen farming event.

This content was definitely missed when the season first dropped. There was enough content to last a weekend and then 4mths of just dead space. Dolmen farming would have helped that, if there was something worth farming.

Nobody uses the sets from this zone so it’s all just decon fodder, and only the gold chests seem to drop anything of value… and even then it seems like it’s only 1/3 that does?

When the Halloween event drops next week I expect this overhyped event will be placed on the back burner. Only need to do the first daily to hopefully get something meaningful, any further farming is just a waste. Server first gets what… a meaningless title? Let them have it.

Even if 90% of the Halloween event is just recycled garbage at least it will have tickets for the eventual housing morph… which is 1000 times more interesting than what this event has revealed so far.

Ugh.. I only just sold off my last Hollowjack and Dremora motifs this past week. Provisioning recipes a couple weeks back. Dunno I have it in me to pile those up again. LOL!

I'm not looking forward to both events running concurrently.

The lack of creativity in this event is embarrassing. We're doing writs for blue rewards and this was the yearlong secret? This is a game...just wow. The lack of anything new thus far is astounding.

We would have been better off with 5 gates, a conal area, and a horde of hundreds, no thousands of NPCs trying to kill us all.

This is an embarrassment...and it doesn't even work. It only solidifies the industry mantra - Zos devs just circle the wagons, don't listen to anyone and release buggy work. This is sad.

Just a few comments about types of drops and rewards -- I personally want more furnishing recipes above anything else. That would be #1 on my wish list for any event reward, followed closely by furnishings. What about more house guests of event or zone NPCs?. #3 is housing of any size, #4 would be motifs, and it would be great if extremely hard to get or rare motifs would drop in events for those of us who are not interested in running vet trials on the off chance we can make a pair of pants later.

Speaking of not interested... I am extremely uninterested in ugly mounds and pets. Wouldn't it be nice if we had a choice of rewards at these things? Like "pick one of these 3 different mounts" instead of yaaayyy yet another undead rotting corpse thing or grotesque daedric monster yayyyy I really want to ride that around.

Narrator: "They did not, in fact, want to ride that around."

Can "play your way" include giving us choices? I would love more beautiful horses and indriks and gryphons, given the choice. My favorite horse is the Nebulous Star-Born Steed that took me over a year to get with Endeavor points, and it was worth it. My favorite pets are fun things like the spectral crab, Catwell, mini-Raz or Khamira, the baby indriks, and so on. I'm not going to ever use the pet or mount from these Golden Pursuits. I'm just doing it for the boxes, only some of which drop anything I'm interested in (mostly the Stirk motif and furnishings).

PS NA I just spent a few minutes at one siege camp and completed one vitrified soul quest. Got another quest and went to Inner Sea Armature and got five vitrified souls in about 10 minutes, while competing with about four other players. I suggest trying Coldharbour, maybe the public dungeon Village of the Lost. I often get vitrified souls quicker in Coldharbour.

From my experience, it feels completely arbitrary. Sometimes they drop really fast and almost every enemy carries 1 or even 2, sometimes I kill a dozen and nothing drops. Even at the very same location, on different days.

Yes. On PS/NA, If I don't complete a vitrified soul quest in ten minutes or so, I change locations. Some locations are "stuck" not dropping vitrified souls, but another location will give you 15 vitrified souls in less than 10 minutes.

Just some more feedback. For the future.

Please do a better job on the articles to ensure its clear about what drops when. Its kind of bad when the article sets an expectation and when expectation is not met rhe answer is "let's look into it" and then the result is "working as intended".

This is the most convoluted and confusing event in the history of ESO, and probably the worst when it comes to rewards.

It doesnt even seem clear if we will still be able to get items from phase 1 in phase 2 or if those will dissappear. Or even what is exclusive drops for the event or what will be obtainable after it.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom Are you suggesting grouping up? I have noticed the drop rates seem to decrease when there is many players working the same area. Running in groups seems to be a hinderance rather than a help.

I have experienced the opposite. With a large group of 12 we would invade an area or siege camps and what counts for me counts for everyone. Times that by 12 and we blow through quests.

I noted this morning (PC NA) that I had 30 Vitrified Souls in my pack before I turned in the quest that asked for 15... after I turned the quest in, I had 0 in my pack...what happened to the other 15?

I crafted all the items for the crafting quests before I accepted the first... half were accepted when their turn came up, the other half I had to remake to turn in... I will have to try this again and try to remember which worked and which I needed to remake...

And I have to agree, there are few, if any, reasons to complete all 24 quests on the first character, let alone the other 19...

Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

How were you able to pick up 30 vitrified souls? I'm unable to find and loot vitrified souls if I don't have the event quest to find 15 of them, and when I do have the quest I'm unable to pick up more than 15 of them. For instance, if I've already looted 14 of them and find another 3 of them on another corpse, I have 15 of them after looting the corpse, not 17 of them.

Helms for the Headstrong is still broken. I’m disappointed that something so basic made it on to live in a broken state, and I get reminded every time I turn in the other five crafting quests and have to skip that one.

What's wrong with it? On PC the items get auto crafted if you have the Lazy Writ Crafter add-on, and I've done it multiple times on multiple characters.

I was going to ask if you'd checked what level of metal it asks for, but you obviously have if you can do the Axe crafting quest.

By the way, I got the Wormwrithe belt this morning. Check your sources again.

I don't feel like I can rely on ZOS for information at this point.

Yes, Weapon pages that are used in the Outfit system. Those will spawn in phase 2.

The Armor pages from the Outfit system are spawning in phase 1.

(The entire system is called the Outfit system, so "outfit" does not imply only armor pieces, though "Style Page" is the more appropriate term that should have been used.)

You can't just willfully ignore the word Weapon attached to it in the sentence. It specifically distinguishes and isolates weapon outfit style pages from armor outfit style pages.

Why would you make missable content limited time? I feel pressured to complete everything. I have an hour or two to play every day and there's too many quests, and the dialogue is full of spoilers and I still haven't catch up with the DLC

One thing I still don't understand: at the beginning of the year, with the introduction of the Seasons Pass, we were assured that it wouldn't be "seasonal content" like in other games and that everything would stay the same at the end. But that's not true at all if the Writhing Fortress doesn't stay in the end...?!

definitely... i have never seen them not use "style page"
