We always get the typical "The game is dying" in Reddit and FB groups, band it never is, I always see a ton of people, but at least in PC NA I see now, that I have been playing again for 2 weeks so far(and will go on until next year) that there is a TON more than I had seen before, AND I LOVE IT.
There is many of us that have been playing since the betas, that play for months, then leave for months, and that is normal, it is the game's life cycle, I also(And my guess is many) go back to Skyrim at least 2 times a year, that is just what bethesda games are
But now you go anywhere and everywhere and there is a lot of people running around, doing missions, exploring and so on.
I am wondering though, do many noobs and tired vets no longer pay the sub? I could never play without the craft bag, but as I some times spend hours farming and doing writs and such, I have noticed that despite there being more players than I had seen in a LONG time, I also se a ton more mats available, when some times, even with "less" players, say, 2 years ago, I would not find more than a couple nods every once in a while, and good luck with chests... these past 2 weeks I have seen more nodes untouched than ever.
In any case, that sort of matters but not at the same time, so long as people keep buying the game

I agree completely. If the steam chart trends hold up, September could be the month where we might even beat the record numbers that haven't seen 2018!

I never saw a post like this in 2020 when the population was actually booming.

what? game is pretty dead compared to what it used to be. long queues for dungeons as a tank, not a lot going on in group finder. which really sucks because im back to the game and enjoying it again. but game is pretty dead, look at steam charts. but summer is almost over, i know i didnt play much at all during june and july, moreso in august because it was too hot outside.

People were stuck in their homes in 2020 due to COVID lock-down, so people who were predisposed to playing video games had more time and incentive (as stress-relief) to spend playing.
You can't genuinely compare playerbase population levels during a forced at-home lock-down to the levels during "normal" times.

Come on, maybe in your time zone, but I also play a that amount of time, as I work from home and some days I just can't but most days I am playing most of the day... and I see a ton of people... what time frame and zone do you play?

I mean I don’t think people are “hoping” for this games failure. People comment negatively because they think the game can improve and they don’t feel like it does.
As someone who only does PvE trifectas, since the last update where Subclassing hit, I have only logged in a handful of times since because I don’t like what it did to the PvE meta. I understand not everyone has this opinion.
