Allow Scribing to grant Minor Savagery/Prophecy/Brutality/Sorcery

For Scribing abilities which affect multiple targets, the Affix Script always applies the Minor version of that buff — except in the case of Brutality/Sorcery and Savagery/Prophecy.

Instead, what currently happens is AoE Scribing abilities applies the Major version of Brutality/Sorcery/Savagery/Prophecy for 10 seconds, while single target Scribing abilities applies the Major version for 20 seconds.


I propose that instead of applying the Major version of the respective buff for 10 seconds, AoE skills should apply the Minor version for 20 seconds. Minor Brutality/Sorcery/Savagery/Prophecy can already be obtained via Poisons, and with Subclassing, those buffs are no longer found in mutually exclusive skill lines.

Simply put, there is no reason to keep the Minor versions of these buffs so difficult to acquire via the Scribing system. Other Affix Scripts properly give you the Minor version with AoE skills and the Major version with single target skills, so the same rules should apply to buffs like Brutality/Sorcery, Savagery/Prophecy, and Evasion.


(Also, this would be a great opportunity to finish the hybridization of the Minor buffs found in the Templar, Dragonknight, Sorcerer, and Nightblade passives, since we can have multiple skill lines offering those Minor buffs.)

Not trying to hijack your thread but there's a huge gap in Scribing with Minor Berserk not being on any Soul ability or Contingency. Minor Berserk is actually really hard to source in PvP if you're not running Animal Companions or using the Monolyth mythic. You'd need to use Camo Hunter, Dark Deal/Conv, Ambush, or the Aedric Spear passive, or one of the outdated sets that have Minor Berserk. Yes I realize Animal Companions, Aedric Spear, Monolyth are all very good for meta builds but there are off meta builds that are fun and sometimes better than the meta that have difficult time getting Minor Berserk.

Anyways if you think the Major/Minor versions of those buffs need a re-work then I believe you. Scribing feels half-baked sometimes.

There's also zero access to Mending, either Major or Minor, which again feels like a weird oversight.

Minor Mending is probably the most rare buff in the game at this point.

Yeah, I think the entire Major/Minor system with Scribing needs a rework. Certain buffs should be made more accessible via Scribing, and the inconsistent rules with ST/AoE not always applying the correct Major/Minor effect leave much to be desired.
