Server Performance for MYM has been really poor

    Surprisingly, I haven't crashed once during the event, but it was still laggy. And the queues are insane.

    I mean, you answered your own question there. ESO is generally more limited by CPU performance than GPU performance.

    Yes but not that much.... This started on the 25th of june this year....

    Which is when they did an update to the client.... see the correlation?

    And that is why they have to fix this thing asap if they want people to still play their game....

    You keep saying this, but you're not offering any fixes or telling us what you think they did to cause the FPS issues. So, what can we do if the issue is client side. Or please be more clear about what you think ZOS did and why we can't undo it if the issue is client side.

    You keep saying this, but you're not offering any fixes or telling us what you think they did to cause the FPS issues. So, what can we do if the issue is client side. Or please be more clear about what you think ZOS did and why we can't undo it if the issue is client side.

    Honestly, there might not be anything that you can do.

    If something was changed with the way that the game is run on certain hardware configurations and that cannot be undone or tweaked in usersettings, pinning processes to cores, etc. then it might just be the new normal for the game. In which case, throwing more hardware at it might be the only remedy.

    FWIW - I made all those changes I suggested and things "felt better" for a day or so (although it was hard to find any good fights because this is hands down the most dead MYM I have ever played in... yes the queue is super long but long queue doesn't mean it's packed. It means there are stale sessions or people having afk macros). The other night I did find a few good fights and my fps absolutley nuked.

    It may be client side but.... idk.. there are too many people across too many platforms having issues to be a "us issue".

    In the last twenty minutes I’ve crashed 3 times, all in the same way. Busy fight - everyone freezes while I keep moving, 999+ ping, crash. The hamster needs to be fed maybe.

    Edit: Now I can’t even get into Cyrodiil anymore. Every time I try to log in the game crashes. I can log in to another character though.

    And that is why they have to fix this thing asap if they want people to still play their game....

    No that is why ZOS has to do more events, golden pursuits, endeavours and daily rewards so players making a break because of lag miss out more and therefore not make a break.
    Also allow players to skip lag and tasks required for those expiring rewards for money and make more expiring crown store. Unplayable lag is no excuse not to keep playing the game and spend money.

    Usually I wouldn't fuss about the level of desync I am experiencing, but with the new and unprecedented availability of unavoidable CC, damage passives & burst tool combinations on top of the Monomyth Mythic, it just doesn't feel right. There are too many instances were counterplay just isn't possible at all, due to abilities/breaks not registering or due to simply being killed within the desync interval (on a relatively beefy build that is).
    Not being able to hit a gap closer along a straight and unobstructed path, while simultaneously taking Spec Bows from behind pillars really manages to spoil the mood quite fast.

    Again, all issues by themselves would be manageable, but in this high damage meta the performance issues and the unavoidable CC really make for a deadly concoction. Everyone with a good ping who chooses to run a full damage setup is probably thriving, but for me some fights are just kind of in spectator mode.

    No it's not. You either weren't around for or are conveniently forgetting about how we've had good performance in the past during MYM events. Performance used to improve during MYM. (even with server side calculations) Then ZOS changed things on their end. ZOS could change things back to the way they were when we had decent performance in Cyrodiil. They're not doing the needed fixes for some reason.

    No I agree with you. Usually MYM somehow we get much better performance for the event, then IMMEDIATELY AFTER the event ends its back to the usual laggy stuff. For some "reason" we're not getting the usual MYM perfomance boost! It's being used to advertise Vengeance lol Do you follow? ;)

    One day left in the event and performance is still atrocious for me. Had 999+ ping for several minutes so I exited the game and the launcher had frozen so I had to force close that as well.

    This year's performance was significantly worse than in previous years. I really noticed it when I was running in a BG. Even with minimum settings the lag was horrible. Solo I felt the lag as soon as there was more than one coordinated group nearby and they started spamming the skills. I'm no expert, but I just don't think the server performance is sufficient with so many skills. Actually, the code should be revised and the servers upgraded, but I think the costs will be too high

    I found some good fights during prime time in my home campaign, but blues are typically outnumbered, and we were defending last emp keeps. What was a serious kick to the giggle berries is the fact that we had defended Ales keep for over an hour and a half against both alliances, pushing them back and out of the inner keep multiple times in a back and forth fight, and the D-Tick was only 15k AP. That was seriously ridiculous. The fight almost felt like some of those major fights during Vengeance, and it should definitely have scored in the high 70-80k AP.

    The code should have been revised years ago, but nothing happened. The biggest problems right now, besides performance, are the shields and healing. We should take a close look at what's happening there.     That worry is purely all speculation.

    What is the purpose of running a game company.....Money. What would happen if vengeance suddenly replaced live? Not only would you lose about 1/5 of your playerbase, but that half of the game has no reason to pay the subscription or buy chapters or season passes.

    At current value, all vengeance is right now is combat with unmorphed skills. Lets say we bring everything else from live back in, not much will have changed other than the skills are cleaner and less bloated. Tooltips are straigtforward and nolonger a paragraph long.

    I assume you mean Ball Groups. I agree, as we already saw with the VENGEANCE test, the addition of group hot stacking with resto staff had a VERY CLEAR performance loss going from the same population of test 1 and 2.
    • Do 90% of heals and shields need to be AoE smart heals? Can't single target heals be......single target(actually a good concept in vengeance)
    • Do we need smart heals at all? Single targets could be aimed and aoe can just be flat or divide out.
    • Do all heals need to cross heal outside of your group? Maybe some or none at all.
    • Do effects really need to stack? Early on groups were limited in the fact that you cant have 12 rapid regens on the same player. Every effect was non stackable which prevented not only group heal stack metas, but also prevented metas stacking the one BIS dot or effect.
