Companion quest repetition

It's one thing to do companion quests once, but the companions are demanding they be repeated on each char. Does the game really expect hat, even if you max rapport on one chaz?

You have to do the introduction again because each individual character has a different relationship with the companion. This allows you to have your companion hate one character and love another or replay quest lines.

That said, I still think their should be a skip for the introduction quest.

I don't mean the introduction quests, thoiugh, but the later companion quests. I don't like to have to repeat those.

None of the Companion quests should be skippable. They're story quests, just like every other story quest in any zone, which should not be made accountwide — otherwise you would only be able to complete those stories once per account, and you wouldn't get to use alternate characters to explore other options during those quests.

There was a substantial thread about this not too long ago (maybe a year ago? can't quite remember).

Anyhoo.. my personal opinion is that I'm okay with having to do the intro quest to unlock the companion on each character.

But I also believe that after a player acquires the companion's trinket (which is account wide), then the rest of the quests should stop popping the "I have a quest for you!" flag above their heads. The quests could still be available if the player decides to dig them out of the companion's dialog options. Just remove the nag mechanic. Because the main purpose of those quests is to increase rapport to subsequently increase xp gains for companion leveling. Which is no longer needed if the player has their trinket.

Once you have maxed out rapport, there is no benefit to doing them except enjoying the story.

I'd rather skip the intro quests than the rapport quests. Some intro quests are less interesting than others, and they absolutely don't affect the companion's rapport. As of now, while I've unlocked all the companions, it's spread across multiple toons, and I'm only doing repeat unlocks when I come across that companion "naturally", that is, questing in the zone they're in.

This is the best idea I’ve heard! I would love if those little quest markers would just go away in this case!

I use Bastian on a second character and I just accepted his quest to make the arrow go away. I’m not doing his quest again.
