We currently have a gear cap at CP 160 and a cap on how powerful you are at about 1500 CP (arguably before that). Following that, we have 2100 CP with solely the ability to not have to spend 3K gold to respec CP. I for one actually enjoyed the old days when we had veteran ranks - obviously this was tied to zone levels before one tamriel and stuff, but it felt better with CP just being a side, personal number, but not like a "level" with no real meaning or reward. I'm personally a huge supporter of keeping progression in the game and long-term especially, but I think ESO sorely lacks any chase or reason to push past that 1500 CP. It'd be so cool if we could earn achievements, titles, mounts, skins, furnishings or whatever at different checkpoints. Currently, the 2100 extra CP is pointless. Why even stop there? Why not uncap it? What do y'all think?
NOTE: I am not referring to specifically the passive bonuses and active slottables and stuff like that. I am referring to it in reference to CP being our account level of sorts, but with no real purpose after CP 1500. Also, why not just make gear cap out at level 50 at this point? CP 160 (if I remember correctly) was chosen due to it translating from veteran rank 16. It's weird telling my friends who celebrate once they hit level 50 that that's not actually where end game starts, but that they also have to now gain 160 champion points lol.
PS - obviously this isn't of crucial importance, but it's something i've always personally never understood. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
