Should Scripts for Grimoires accessed via Subclassing cost twice as much Luminous Ink to apply?

If we were to get Grimoires for Class skill lines, and we were able to access these Grimoires of different Classes using Subclassing, should it cost twice as many Luminous Ink to scribe or change the Scripts for those Grimoires? This would be a parallel to Subclassed abilities costing twice as many Skill Points each.

As an example, it would cost 3 Luminous Ink for a Templar to scribe an Aedric Spear Grimoire for the first time, and it would only cost 1 Luminous Ink per Script changed afterward. However, that Templar would have to spend 6 Luminous Ink to scribe an Assassination Grimoire for the first time, and spend 2 Luminous Ink per Script changed on that Grimoire afterward. Naturally, a Nightblade would be able to scribe that Assassination Grimoire for 3 Luminous Ink and change its Scripts for just 1 Luminous Ink each, but they would spend twice as many for an Aedric Spear Grimoire.

Is there any particular reason why? I know Class Sets are locked to the native Class (despite each being dedicated to a single skill line anyone can use) but why should the same logic apply to Scribing?

What's the point? It wouldn't even make a dent in my ink supply, but it probably would for all those who dont have a bunch stashed away. Same with the skill point thing, which i also think is a pointless barrier to entry.

Why would you accept class sets are ok to remain on native classes only but grimoire shouldn't be?
If you want the benefits of something that is uniquely belonging to the class such as a class only class script, just use a character of that class.
In the same way that if your build needs 2 skill lines from Arcanist you need to use your Arcanist for it.

Personally, I'd rather Class Sets be usable by any Class. Then the only limiting factor would be which skill lines you have equipped to use those sets with, since each set is themed around a particular skill line. The same logic would then apply to Class Grimoires.

    Give it some time.

If the past few years are any indicator; Class restrictions will diminish to the point where your starting class is nothing more than a guide for new players.

I wouldn’t be surprised if over time, all of the class-specific things (eg, class set styles, IA class sets, even the class scripts in scribing) all opened up. They largely seem pointless now that we have access to everything.

I voted yes because I’d imagine they’d want to maintain some sort of “penalty” akin to what they do with using other class skills (eg, requiring 2 skill points for a NB skill or passive when you’re a sorcerer). Do I WANT them to do that? No, absolutely not and I wish there wasn’t an extra skill point requirement now, but I imagine that’s what they’d do.

Agreed. Bonus points if arcanist doesn’t have a bis grimoire so you have to choose between the grimoire or the class script.

If this meant I only had to collect all scripts once and then it be available on all characters, that would be a huge YES!

But it wouldn't be equivalent, because you get your skill point refunded when you change class skills. Imagine if like ink, skill points were a consumable, rather than something you collected once and were refunded .... you may be onto something there.

    sure?
i already don't mind the Double Skill Point cost for Subclassing and Luminous Ink is infinite so it's even less of a problem to me.

i really hope Class line grimoires happen real soon!

Perhaps instead of more ink cost scribing in a class mastery on a Grimoire for a class it is not a base should consume 2 effect slots on the grimoire instead of one. Just a thought :)
